I have a 2004 dodge stratus coupe..got to work just fine today and went to head out at lunch and my car is totally dead. When I got in and used my remote to unlock the car, that was okay, then I put in the key and turned it over, the car made a little effort to start, then just totally shut down, no lights on the dash, no ding ding ding when my key is put in, and the remote won't lock the doors...what could be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Battery connections
2. Battery
3. Alternator

Did you get it jumped to see if it would start?

Batteries usually last longer than 3 years, but that doesn't mean they have to. They could last a lot longer as well.

Time to check the connections on the battery.
Eather it is totaly dead, or the connections are so corroded that thy cant make contact with the post on the battery.
Try jumping the battery and have the battery checked for state of charge.
