I think "In The End" by Linkin Park and "When You Were Young" by The Killers are two of the best songs from 2000-current. Many songs of this period have been lacking though. What do you think?

I agree that some of the songs today arte quite lacking. I have doubts whether any band will be as famous as Led Zeppelin or the Beatles,etc or if any guitarist were to pick up a guitar without knowing about 'smoke on the water'. I would say Muse would be remembered with 'supermassive black hole'.

This century, too early to tell. Last century 1900 to 2000, everything by Cole Porter , Gershwin on the pop side.

I agree with your first choice.
But I also agree with it being too early to tell. Nothing immediately comes to mind.
