Obviously, these huge cruise ships can't let everyone off at once. It is a multi hour process, with each cabin being assigned a priority. Your priority is based on your flight arrangements, etc. I am going on a cruise soon and I was told that the boat gets in to port early morning and I should not book a flight before 1 PM. You should call your cruise line and get their specific recommendations.

If the Purser have his paper work properly done
the ship will be cleared by US immigration by 7:45, say you will be out
by 8:45 if you don't have lot of luggage
is best to travel light,so you can have your personal belongings with you all the time, Remember the Immigration Officer is going to have break fast on board so they will work fast, (Smile).

that will depend on the time of your flight, the earlier your flight the earlier you will depart the ship, you will receive colour coded luggage tags the night before, the colour that departs earliest is white, the latest you are usually on the ship though is by 10:00-10:30 am. good luck
