So you don't like him because he doesn't bend over and take it like other countries? Or that he doesn't turn his head when he sees other countries doing wrong to their people? What ever happened to have a pair of balls and standing up for what you believe? Yes, I voted for him, twice. But do I think he's doing the best job he can, no. I do believe he's made mistakes but over all, he's got con-fictions and beliefs. Countries all around the world turn the other cheek when Iraq, Iran, and N. Korea break sanctions or treaties. The United States goes to enforce these and now we're the bad guys. World countries ask us for help during their times of need and we help. We go on and try to rid the world of tyranny and oppression and now you're ready to castigate us.

George Bush won the election due to the electoral college.

The electoral college makes it so that each state has an equal share in representing the population. These are called electoral votes.

The majority of people voted against Bush and these are called the popular vote. Popular votes are what matter to me.

The electoral college is an archaic form of checks and balances so that the presidential candidates have a balanced chance in winning the election. Since each of the states population differs this is where the electoral college kicks in.

Now with the advent of the internet and the information age, the electoral college is a little unbalanced. My opinion is that the popular vote should always supercede the electoral vote. The electoral votes should be used as a quality control measure not a screener.

I hope this helped you shed light on the subject...just so you know...Bush did not win the popular vote, but this is still a mystery...

Good Luck!

Trust me when I say.. the only other choice was John Kerry and that would have been an even bigger mistake. These idiots get nominated by there respective parties and then we vote one way or the other. We can always vote for one of the free candidates like the Liberal party or whatever but thats not going to happen. You'll see a big change with the next election we promise. It just so happens we had to choose between the lesser of 2 evils in the last election and it turned out to be Bush. In in fact Kerry got more votes but did not win the majority of the electorial votes. Do a search and you'll see what I mean. But basically each state votes and it goes by population in each state how many electorial votes each state has. In other words California may have 8 electorial votes lets say and if that state has a majority vote for bush he gets 8 votes. John Kerry may have won New Hampshire and Maine but together they only count as 7 votes.. Yes pretty confusing I know. I must say though me being American were are getting tired of all the Anti-American sentiment coming out of England. Whats up with that?

I am not anti American and do not wish to sound that way on the contrary, I have relatives there and will be there for Easter.
Whatever is written below also applies to Tony Blair in the case of Iraq.
CATO: However deserves to be answered.
To the tsunami aid I would say yes but then everybody sent aid,in fact Britain is a small island and we sent more than most.
To the rest of you examples of help NO, mind your own business. A few years before you were supplying Saddam with the weapons to do the Kurds. We all know that it wasn't about Saddam. Anyway that is your version. The BBC did a survey on the streets of Baghdad and 85% said they were better off before, even under Saddam.
If your president were that keen to help the underdog What about Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
He is killing 100's every day. 80% unemployed,Lifespan 35 years. The truth is they don't have oil or business for his and Donald's business partners.

Congratulations Democrats, I wish you a landslide victory in the next election.

there was a hbo special that showed how the voting machines could be gotten into in 10 secs and the votes changed also machines taking a vote and counting it as a vote for a different candidate , many people realised that bush got in through fraud before this came to light . you may ask WHY ? the fact is bush is a puppet like every president from WW2 to today , he is a member of skull and bones (the order of death) which he was asked about on meet the press, he is also a member of the bohemian grove where on the longest day of the year 2000 elite members watch from across a lake where the druidick looking freaks have a ritual where they burn an effigy of a child in front of a 40 ft stone owl , this was caught on video by alex jones in 2000 and can be watched on google video for free.

the agender of these people is not good and the above you may think is rubbish but after an hour of looking into it you will see everything i told you and more, you may rationalise it like the media has !!!!! world leaders beng part of secret lucifarian rituals where they burn an effigy of a human being in front of a 40 stone owl is not good and it goes miles deeper than that .

How much time you got?........
There is corruption all over the world, so yes I would say it is possible that someone could rig an election like FLORIDA! I do believe it was them that broke the camels back on that one. But the great thing about being American is that I can proudly say that "No, I did not vote for him, I will not vote for him or any other idiot." And If all our other leaders do is nominate other idiots for the position, no I'm not voting for them either. The unfortunate thing is that he's got even a bigger idiot behind him, Dick Cheney. So if we were to impeach Bush, Cheney is next in line.... AAAAAAhhhhhhh! There is some naivety in your statement about how much control each individual has in this country, and realizing that politics (and media, and fuel, and all kinds of other things) everywhere are controlled the by wealthy elitists, from all over the world, not just the idiot Bush family.

To our neighbors in this world, it must look like we are a bunch of dolts here in America. You ask some very valid questions and reflect what I believe is the opinion of much of the world.

I'll tell you how that madman became President.... Voter apathy was the biggest cause. In America, we became too busy to get off our butts and go to the polls. We were to concerned about our jobs, our new SUV, our bank accounts. Too concerned about what our neighbors were doing. We decided that someone else will vote so we don't have to.

The participation of registered voters in our country has fallen drastically over the last 25 years. The last Presidential elections have seen less than 50% of eligible voters bother to vote. So, along comes Mr. Bush with his religious nuts behind him, appealing to those who espouse to be Christian, promising them he would end abortion, give Federal funds to their church-related businesses (which is against our Constitution), and generally said all the things the religious screwballs are always going on about. They ignored his past record as a terrible governor of Texas (he was so hands-off as to not even be present), his alchoholic past, his past drug use, his draft dodging and voted for him.

Now, he didn't win the popular vote. Al Gore got the most votes. But we have the electoral college system here - which is so outdated but somehow survives. There was some hanky-panky in Florida with the votes. (George Bushs brother Jeb is the governor of that state). The votes in Florida needed to be recounted. During the recount, the Bush people fought it tooth and nail - all the way to the Supreme Court and they put a stop to the count. By the way, the Supreme Court doesn't have any reason to get involved with politics-and probably won't again.

So, Bush was declared the winner. By the second election, he had involved us in the illegal invasion of Iraq and, once again, the screwballs and wingnuts, filled with patriotic fervor - and some who weren't voted him in again. He and his cabal ran the most vicious election campaign I have ever seen (I'm 66 years old), vilified John Kerry who is one of this countrys war heros and generally used every dirty trick available. And, the Boobs believed him.

Our Congress, which changed dramatically last election, is working hard to repair the damage he has caused, to bring our troops out of that awful place, to mend our relations with our former allies. It will be a long struggle for us to recover.

I think the apathetic voters have learn their lesson - let's hope anyway..... If they hadn't been asleep at the wheel, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Mr. Bushs approval rating is about 32%, his cronies are dropping like flies, there are so many scandals and congressional investigations going on. He will go down as the worst President we have ever had.

I hope this helps....

The fact is, we have the idiot. My question is why do the conserves still stand by him? Do they live in a different America? The man has done nothing but screw up. Even if you like the guy, what can you say for him that gives him any credence as a leader? He's embarrassing and I'm old enough to remember back to President Carter. There is no other President so disputed and hated by Americans and other countries as this dolt.
I'm from Wisconsin - we didn't vote for it...

Florida

George W. Bush won the presidency in 2000 after the Supreme Court decided issues over ballot counting in a contest that involved serious disputes over irregularities and recounts in Florida. The votes were recounted in certain counties, first by machine and then manually, with George Bush leading after each recount. Ultimately, the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the Florida Supreme Court and ordered the state to stop any further recounts.

Just eight months into his presidency, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 suddenly transformed Bush into a "wartime president." Bush's approval ratings surged to near 90%. Within a month, the forces of a coalition led by the United States invaded Afghanistan, which had been sheltering Osama bin Laden, suspected mastermind of the September 11 attacks. By December, the Taliban had been removed as rulers of Afghanistan, although a long and ongoing occupation would follow.

The Bush administration then turned its attention to Iraq. The administration argued that the need to remove Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq had become urgent. The stated premise was that Saddam's regime had tried to acquire nuclear material and had not properly accounted for biological and chemical material it was known to possess, potential weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in violation of U.N. sanctions. This interpretation has been hotly debated since its proposal, and its basis in U.S. military intelligence has since been compromised with the failure of the U.S. to find the aforementioned WMDs in Iraq, and the statements of the 9/11 Commission Report denying the idea of an Al-Qaeda/Saddam Hussein connection. This situation escalated to the point that the United States assembled a group of about forty nations, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and Poland, which President Bush called the “coalition of the willing”, to invade Iraq.

The coalition invaded Iraq on March 20, 2003. The invasion succeeded swiftly, with the collapse of the Iraq government and the military of Iraq in about three weeks. The oil infrastructure of Iraq was rapidly secured with limited damage in that time. On May 1, George W. Bush landed on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, in a Lockheed S-3 Viking, where he gave a speech announcing the end of major combat operations in the Iraq war. Bush's approval rating in the month of May rode at 66%, according to a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll.[1]

However, Bush's high approval ratings did not last. First, while the war itself was popular, the post-war occupation was rather less so. Second, as investigators combed through the country, they failed to find the predicted WMD stockpiles, which led to debate over the rationale for the war. Third, with the war over and September 11th two years in the past, domestic concerns began to rise to the forefront again, and the Bush administration's domestic agenda was less popular.

There are lots of racist White people who live in the USA and racist and radical White people in the State of Texas where he was governor before he became president. I wouldn't say the WHOLE world hates him because there could be some idiotic White people in the western world who think what he does is right and he should punish these non-whites purely because these other idiots who are the same race as them tried to commit terrorism where they themselves are innocent. Don't forget, the USA has a history of being a nosey parker and I believe the last war it has taken part in which it was right to do so was WWII. Also don't forget that he never became president on votes.
