A. Models are just an attempt to describe a set of observations. As new observations are made or more information is discovered, models are updated to better explain them. Nothing is actually "fact", only the best way we have to explain it with the information we have about it. Answer D sounds like a reasonable answer but 1) a scientist cant "prove" it to be correct, only that it does accurately describe observations and 2) it is part of A because if a model is shown to better explain observations, then it has been "proven" correct.
