By macrodermabrasion you actually mean dermabrasion, right? Well, they are both skin resurfacing techniques but their results, cost, procedure and risks make them significantly different. The main difference between dermabrasion and microdermabrasion is that microderma exfoliates only the top 10-15 microns from the top layer of your skin, whereas dermabrasion exfoliates thicker skin layers. Dermabrasion is a one-session treatment, requiring another yearly session for maintenance. Microderm abrasion treatment consists of 6 to 12 sessions, scheduled 2 weeks apart and usually requires a once every 2-3 months session for maintenance. The results of the two procedures are also different: dermabrasion is an effective solution for acne scar, tattoo and wrinkle removal, while microderma is only effective in removing superficial skin imperfections like scars, sun spots and fine lines.
Hope this helps.

I have never heard of macrodermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is using fine particles to exfoliate the epidermis. Dermabrasion is only performed by doctors. It is a wire wheel that is rolled over the skin to refine scarring.
