Hey,
I want to purchase an ipod or an mp3 player but I know absolutely nothing about them...I would like the biggest bang for my buck.

I want to:
-Watch Movies (on long road trips and on the airplane)
-Listen To Music
-Store Photos

What do you recommend? I'd prefer something with a long battery life and lots of memory...Thanks!

Well, first let's clear something up: the iPod is a brand of MP3 player, just like the Walkman is a brand of CD player -- they just happen to be the most popular, and so the terminology is often misconstrued. Now that we have that out of the way -- the iPod is #1 for a REASON: it's the best. Don't listen to all those "individuals" who buy the Zune or the Zen because they're less mainstream. They're less mainstream for a reason: because they suck. Get the iPod, but before you do, I suggest you wait several months for the sixth-generation. It'll be far more advanced, and you'll probably spend the same amount of money.

When you watch movies on an ipod, it wastes down the battery life real fast...
Anywayz you can do all of those things you mentioned with an Ipod....but an Mp3 is easier to use, and it does all of those things but being able to watch movies...if you want to watch movies and listen to music and store photos, then why dont you get you a PSP? it does all of that and it comes with a bigger screen for the movies!!!

the extra advantageous distinction is this... Ipods are extra high priced. MP3 gamers via in great alongside with ipods are purely confusing drives. Its the utility that make then do the flaws you want. yet in assessment to what dick200 says, you do not would desire to purchase song from apple to make the ipod artwork. i could particularly purchase the cd then make copies/then convert the songs to mp3's or mp4 for use on the ipod. Its a extra physically powerful way of conserving and conserving your song. in case you purely own song on Mp3 format, then if—no whilst— some thing occurs to the two your ipod or mp3 participant you S.O.L. yet once you own the CD you purely reburn. locate out the thank you to make your gained song for the two mahine format. you would be extra advantageous off.

They are actually the same things. Ipod is the "Apple" brand. It depends on what you are looking for. Ipods are easier to get content because you can go to Itunes. MP3 are usually less expensive but getting content can be more difficult.
