I like Mexico very much, especially the culture of the people and beautiful beaches.
I'm American and can't travel to Cuba but I hear the beaches and hotels are very nice. What I don't like is I can't travel to Cuba.

I am a Mexican and obviously I have to say that Mexico is a great country to visit. I would advise you not to go to Cancun as other people have, it is full of americans and developed to please their taste.
Mexico has a variety of landscapes, wildlife, beaches, towns and cities. It is ranked 4th in biodiversity in the world so you can get to many places with different wildlife and scenery. The beaches are wonderful, the Yucatan peninsula is lovely as we hold part of the caribbean and we have the 2nd largest reef barrier so you can scuba dive and have a great time there. I would recommend going to Garrafon to do that and to stay in Playa del Carmen which is not as crowded as Cancun. Otherwise you can go to the Pacific side and go for Puerto Vallarta which is very close to Guadalajara, the land of Mariachis and Tequila.
If you want inland adventure there is nothing like the Big Taco, Mexico city is a chaotic, exciting and overwhelming place to visit, there's tons of things to do there.
On the history side, well, we are undoubtedly the winners over Cuba, we have the Aztec Empire heritage, the Mayan Ruins, the Spanish Colony Era with beautiful towns and buildings all over Mexico, try San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, it is amazing.
Our food is faaaaaar better than cuban food, not for nothing we are the 3rd in the world in haute cuisine.

hi i would have to agree that mexico is the best place. it all depends on what you like to do and get out of your stay , i lived in queratarro mexico which has a lot of historacal sights and is up in the mountains it is also one of the cleanest cities i have ever seen , migeul de allende is an american town as to say people who retire to mexico from america most live there. there is alot to do and see in mexico , i lived there for over a year and visit at least once a year and still have not6 seen everything their is a nice montain range called sierra madre where you can going camping and has the most diversified animals and plant due to it supports 4 different eco systems. it has the forest like here, rainforest, mountain, dessert it even has jauguars and many birds you can also go to www.visitmexico.com and find out what there is for each part of mexico i hope this helps oh also sometimes it is nicer to stay of the path that most tourists take and get a real feel for their culture and brush up on your spanish only the nationwide hotels and alot of the tourist places speak english

i've been to mexico and my boyfriend is mexican, and has been to cuba.
i like mexico because it's possible to work a normal work week, and provided you don't want something very luxurious, you can live your life....you can go out to eat, spend time with friends, take vacations, etc... and not kill yourself with stress and work. i love the food, the people are very nice, and i enjoy many cultural things such as festivals, monuments, historical sites, etc... what i don't like is that even though i make a good living in mexico, it is very hard for the average mexican to make a good living. i also don't like the steriotypes of american women (easy) or the fact that people are not upfront and totally truthful.
my boyfriend likes cuba because it's very beautiful, the music is great, the food is great, and he feels that people are extremely creative. they find ways to get along without "modern ammenities," yet they are content. he does not think all people want to leave cuba, but most do wish they were not communist. what he didn't like was that he felt he was being followed and watched the whole time (he was on business) to make sure he wasn't popularizing democracy or something.

Mexico is a great place to visit. The people are friendly and the prices are great. It is hard to see all the poverty there though, but I'm sure that exists in Cuba as well.

I have been to Mexico ! In fact I lived there for about a year! My husband is Mexican and we went there to stay with his family for about a year! It was not too bad. But I did not like how hot it was there, and I could not eat the meat, it made me sick! When we went to Acapulco, I had a great time at the beach! The water is icy cold! But the beach is beautiful!

I've been to Mexico twice. Once for a mission trip (Durango)and the other for my honeymoon (Cancun). I liked it because it gave me another cultural experience.
It's good to see how other people live in the world. Not everyone lives like we do in the US and it's so easy to get caught up in the lifestyle here and loose perspective of other people and countries.
Go see the world!!! It's amazing out there!!!

I'm Mexican and i have been in Cuba, nice place really charming and pretty womans, the only bad thing about that is that they can't put anything on your passport if you are planning to visit USA because with that stamp USA border security won't let you get in.
