First I would use an eye lash curler, it makes all the difference. Then, I don't push too hard on the brush or it makes my lashes clumpy or too separated. After you use the eye lash curler, just apply it once and move the brush towards the outside of your face, that way your lashes will slightly go to the outside and they'll look more natural and pretty. Also, you may have to switch mascaras because some just really aren't good. I use Loreal or MAC.

you can condition your lashes with a clear mascara when heavy coverage is not needed.

use a primer like the one maybelline has on the xxl two sided mascara. this will make your lashes longer and thicker looking too.

curl your lashes before mascara

start at the root zig-zagging left to right all the way to the tip. this way you are getting all sides of the lash.

take a lash comb or a safety pin (be careful!) and separate the clumped lashes.

also take the tip of tha mascara wand and use it to add mascara to hard to reach corners.

try maybelline and cover girl mascaras. they have the best. surprisingly they are better than department store brands.

I curl my lashes 1st, then apply dark black mascara on the top off the lashes (downward stroke) several strokes, then on bottom of the lashes in an upward sweep all the way across not missing any lashes in either corner. i personally dont do my bottom lashes, only thin liner there to make my eyes appear bigger and more open

First use a lash curler, then apply the mascara. I use the maybellines volumes ones. They work pretty well. Also start at the ends and work your way in.

well I use to make the mistake of putting the the mascara on and then using the curler, but I was told by a mary kay seller, to use the curler first then apply the mascara. No matter what mascara I use it comes out better now, and it stays up until I clean the mascara off.

Great lash has always worked for me. I remember stealing it from my mom when i was little. Its been around forever. Start at the very bottom and move up. I close my eye as im moving up to make sure i get the whole lash. For some reason, mouth open as well always works. not sure why though

I use maybeline great lash mascarra, but the best way to apply it is to wipe excess onto a tissue (that prevents clumps) then first apply it to your bottom lashes and then the top. Your top lashes will be clump-free and even!!

You've received a lot of good advice but something I would like to add is to use a small hand-held mirror. I find that my lashes look a lot neater when I use a small-medium mirror for close-up application.

I use mark. Comb Out mascara, and I apply it by brushing upwards. I finish with an eyelash curler, and the result is very nice!
