in my own experience you can put the hampsters in the same cage but if they start fighting all the time you will need to separate them. I had three girl's together at once but two of them started to gang up on the one so I had to take her out then the other two got along great.
Tips: Hampsters like carrots. I feed mine a baby carrot once a week for a treat.
Female hampsters are more agressive than males so when you first get them let them stay in there cage for a few days before you start pulling them out to play with them. Give her time to get used to her new surroundings then you can pull them out and start playing with them but make sure you wash your hands first so they don't smell like food. Good luck
I like the names mine are Speedy and Sissy

Hamsters can generally NOT be caged together-- they are very aggressive loners that will attack and most likely kill and EAT the other hamster. So i think you shouldn't cage them together unless you want a dead hamster.

As for getting your hamsters used to you and your cage-- When you first bring them home have a nice cage ready, put them in a quiet place in their new cage ( away from any loud noises and racket) so they can become used to their new surrounds... I suggest not playing with them for about a day and a half, because they will be very nervous.

After this-- slowly get a treat and feed it to them and slowly pick them up-- they are bound to be frightened and skittish at first because the pet stores dont socialize with them at all. Don't worry! They will become used to you! Just don't frighten them to death by chasing them all around their cages until you catch them... just give it time and feed them treats and pet them while inside of the cage ( if they can't be caught) and they will start to realise you aren't some big monster trying to eat them! Of course, catching them at first will be kind of hard and you can try and snatch them up gently, but remeber not to chase them in a frenzie!

As for tips-- clean their cage once a week, fresh water every three days, fresh hamster feed every day and treats such as lettuce, carrots, apples-- but not too much or they can get sick!

GOOD LUCK and have fun! =)

dont put the syrians together, they might get along in the beginning, but one of my sryian hamster actually died in a fight with his brother. as they get older, they will fight more. syrian hamsters are not social. dwarf hamsters/campbells are more social.
