If you are comfortable with the guy then it's the right time.
If you're horny and don't care if he calls you tomorrow, it's the right time.

I usually wait anywhere from 3-6 months depending on how often we see one another. I like to get to know the person first in that way, I will know if we will be sexually compatible or not.
Because I wait, I found several people to be just good friends and being intimate with them would have ruined it all.

I think it comes down to chemistry and safety. First you have to decide if you trust your instincts. If you do then go with what feels right. Generally I would suggest waiting until you get to know them a little bit. But, I moved in with the man I married within a month and married him within three months. Eleven years and still going.
p.s. I did wait until our third date!

My husband and that i began having intercourse after 3 months (i exchange into 15 virtually sixteen and he had grew to become 17 the month earlier).
