Sachin , Chappel,Dhoni & Yuveraj. are responsible...
Not nessesarily Dravid.I have my reasonning..
Look what we have got here...
We have solid facts for that.
SL had upper hand...cause most batsmen plyed foolishly.
It could have been all the way for Asian Teams.
chappel was instead of amoral booster ,..he became demoraliser. He had never been a good coach.
But see how S.L. became top of the world right now...
Though they beat india They still had to give their "best ever performance"..When Uthappa and Ganguly walked in, India had a target of just 255 runs, on a wicket which had dried and gone flatter. But nobody showed the determination to stay on, except ... may be Dravid. It was his flurry of fours off Malinga in one over that had raised the hopes of selfless Indian fans just for a while.Dhoni was a dissaster.
Obviously the turning point was Sachin’s getting out to Fernando, through the gate for a duck. That was a vital blow. India could not recover. Whatever little chances India had went up in flames when Yuvraj was run out foolishly.
what a shoddy performance?
India’s strength was batting and given the proper conditions, their medium pacers and the spinners could be devastating. If not, their shoulders start drooping and the bowling goes haywire with all kind of experimentations. It could happen to the batting too.
We were the big brothers when they started. Now they are the elders. What an irony. Lankans are better fielders for sure, and the bowlers bowl to the field under any circumstances unless it’s a completely off day for them.
Muralitharan is just outstanding. And most importantly, they play as a team and not as individuals. And that’s the thin line that differentiated the two teams.
But they now have to beat only 3 teams to advance easyly to much awaited semi finals.India has to wait 4 years.

Only Dravid or Chappel are not responsible for this disaster..........the whole team has contributed in it.....yes there was lack of planing on Chappel part But even the team didn't try to get through at all !! as for dravid so he might not be a good captain but he is a responsible player and he has done his job as a player which was needed from other players well but unfortunately they coundn't !! this is a failure of the whole team and the managment !

It’s all because of Greig Chappel. He is an Australian and Team Pontng only fears by INDIA. Remember India has breaks his team winning records several times; Consecutive test winning record or consecutive ODI’s.
Chappel has came India to make sure that India doesn’t comes in a way to Australia in winning World Cup. And He is succeeded in that.

i think it is the collective failure of players. Indians lack in the habit of adapting to the the environment. in the last two three years the phase of the one day cricket has entirely changed. we no longer require men who doesn't adapt to the the conditions. fitness and hunger to win the game plays a prominent role in winning the games. for eg. Australian and South African players save 20- 30 runs by their excellence in fielding. we don't need Sachin or Sourav who doesn't play attacking cricket atleast in the one day games. i think BCCI must take strict actions on the fitness and must remove players as soon as they can, if the players didn't perform well. our players are arrogant. they always are confident of their positions. there is no fear in them. no coach can do anything with such players and even if they can that would lead to another disaster

It is totally unfair to single out anybody for the disasterous performance of Indian Team in the world cup. It was due to collective failure of batsmen and bowlers as they failed to performm to their potential throughout the tournament except against the match against Bermuda.
