I dont hate the Wii, but it is FAR inferior when compared to the Xbox 360 or PS3. Here are my reasons for saying so:

1. Really bad graphics

2.Most of the games dont really appeal to Gamers

3.The speaker on the controller sounds horrid

4.Lack of online focused games

As said before im not anti-Wii I just think 360 & PS3 is better

Yea ur right, Wii does SUCK! I don't know why people buy it. Here are some other problems with the Wii to add 2 ur list.

1. It's not HD (none of the games are)
2. The controller is annoying (in other words, i don't want to be waving my arms for like 2hrs. straight u know? lol.)
3. You can't watch DVD, HD-DVD, or Blu-Ray (tsk, tsk)
4. You can't put ur own MP3 CD and listen to music.
5. (This worst of all) No rated "M" for Mature games

Though there are SOME good things about Wii though.

1. It's a great system for all ages. (From little 5 yr olds. to 80 yrs. old. lol)
2. You can play classic Nintendo games, like N64, SNES, or Nintendo. (This is one of the things that i liked about the Wii)
3. The Mii avatars of yourself can be used in games. (This is ok)

But still PS3 and 360 are WAAAAY better than the Wii.

I just got a Wii and i enjoy it. So, i will try to rebuke each reason with an answer, like other people have been doing...

1. So? People don't just play games for the graphics, they play for either the plotline (because they are fans of the series), or because they enjoy the multiplayer. Sure, graphics would help in overall presentation, but the gameplay is where the most judging should go.

2. Well, that really isn't a fact, it's more of an opinion. Just because you don't think that they appeal to you, dosen't mean that others aren't appealed to the games. The games are more family-oriented, so they seem "childish," but some aren't. Take Red Steel, it may have been a bad game, but it was a shooter/swordsmanship game. The swords were really the only part that integrated the Wii controls. Also, if you've ever played Super Smash Bros. then you know that the next one (Brawl) is coming up, and in my opinion, looks really good.

3. The speaker really doesn't sound bad in certain games, like Sports. There you can hear the tennis racket "swing" or the punches "connecting." So really, it just depends on the game.

4. Well, the Wii has only been out for a couple of months, and the developers have only been focusing on developing games that integrate the controls, not online playability. Just wait a few more months.

But, these are just my opinions.

The reason the Wii is gaining so much enthusiasm is because of its unique play control. Because the main control is the movement of your Wiimote and Nunchuck (as opposed to the movement of an analog stick or mashing buttons on a control pad), you become much more immersed in the game. It's the closest thing to real virtual reality we have. Granted, the graphics aren't as good as the Playstation 3 or XBOX, but I don't really find this all that much of a problem. It's not like it's going back to Atari. It is a slight step up from GameCube. Okay, the graphics for WiiSports and WiiPlay are horrendous, but every other title I've seen are only a little behind PS3 and the 360.

Also, there are two main reasons most games don't appeal to gamers yet (although I find this arguable, most gamers I have spoken to absolutely love their Wiis and the games on them). The first one is that the launch titles were mostly designed to appeal to the "non-gamer." Nintendo is trying to give people who have never played a console game in their life a chance to see what we see. That's part of the reason why the play control is so important: non-gamers don't quite understand why we enjoy memorizing combinations of arbitrary buttons so they can just pick up the controller and go. The second reason is that most (non-Nintendo) companies were probably unsure of how the Wii was really going to work at launch time. They wanted to see how other games utilized the new control system. With the other consoles, they could just say, "Oh, you've given them a new set of buttons? Okay, we'll make those control a weapon menu." The Wii is making these companies move out of their comfort zone a little bit and think outside of the box.

I think the reason there are few online focused games released so far is because Nintendo (and other game companies) predicted the shortage of systems, and they knew that pretty much everybody would immediately buy Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess over some online capable game. As more systems are bought, there will be more online games released.

Because the games are more fun to play.

Personally, I think that a game should be fun to play, and define "Really Bad". I've seen Xbox 360 games that look worse than Twilight Princess.

Second, does the 360/PS3 even HAVE a speaker in the controller, it may be cheap, but to any non-audiophile, it adds another level of immersion that the other games can't beat.

Third, The whole POINT of the Wii is that it's not for hardcore gamers. If you're that hardcore of a gamer that you're willing to spend 600 bucks for a PS3 you're welcome to it.

Lack of online games? Remember that it was quite a while after Xbox was released that Xbox Live was launched. Did people complain about the lack of online games then? Give Nintendo a chance before you slam them. Super Smash Bros Brawl is supposed to support online play, as well as a few others, so just wait and give it a chance.

I have a Wii and an Xbox 360 and every console has its place. When I play my 360, it's a game, I'm not as drawn into the experience as I am when I play the Wii. The Wii is better at what it was designed to do and the 360/PS3 are better at what they were designed to do.

I do understand that you're not anti-wii, but nevertheless:

1. Who cares about the graphics, I still play Mario Bros. and DK Country, and the graphics are "bad".

2. What are you talking about? Does "Red Steel" ring a bell? "Call of Duty 3"? "Prince of Persia"? "Super Smash Bros. Brawl"? "Metroid Prime 3"? The only "family" games are Wii sports, Wii play, Cooking Mama, and Warioware. And even though they're "family" games, I'm a gamer and I still play them.

3. First off, that's an exaggeration. I have many games with controller sounds and I personally have no beef. Second of all, who even cares, even if it was that bad? Nobody buys a Wii to listen to controller sounds! Oh, and at least the wiimote has rumble!

4. The online games are coming. Nintendo is just having some trouble. The Everybody Votes and Virtual Console channels should be enough to tide people over. It certainly is working for me.

And all of this is not even including the fact that it's about a third as pricey as ps3, and less expensive than 360.

Wii!!! I also have a wii and that's magnificent. all and sundry says that the wii has terrible photographs, yet there high-quality. they don't look to be lots diverse than the different 2. The ps3 and the 360 are the two a similar element because of the fact the ps2, xbox, and gamecube yet extra advantageous photographs . the wii is an entire diverse thank you to play video games. Plus that's low-cost, has zelda, and mario video games( like great destroy bros).

I think you can't really compare the three consoles. The Nintendo Wii is not being snapped up for it's graphics, but for it's new game play. The graphics aren't "really bad" (especially if you upgrade your cales). The graphics aren't that of the 360 or crappy PS3, but they aren't trying to be. The 360 and PS3 are considered "next-gen" consoles, the Wii is not.

The speaker in the controller isn't meant for stereo sound. I have my Wii hooked up to Dolby surround sound and it sounds GREAT. The speaker in the Wii mote performs just as it should, that little something extra that Sony and Microsoft just didn't think of.

Online games are coming soon for the Wii. I didn't buy a Wii to get online, I bought a Wii to have some fun with my friends.

I have all three systems and the one I am most upset about is the PS3. I spent over 600$ and to be honest it's been played a total of 4 hours. I got my 360 at launch last year, and it's been sitting as well (except for GOW...and Guitar Hero II is coming!!!).

I waited outside in the cold on launch to get the Wii and I wouldn't trade it. It's been well worth the money and well worth the time.

If you are a hardcore teenage gamer who only wants to talk trash and up your level scores...then the Wii is not for you. BUT, if you love to have fun with a group of people and enjoy new concepts and ways to game...then this is for you.
Can't compare apples to oranges...I'll take both!

I agree that the games aren't the best they've ever come up with (personally I'd take, say, Halo over frickin' bowling any day), but the thing about the wii is the remote. You physically go through the motions when playing games like pool or tennis or baseball.

Remember when you were a kid and there was always that one friend who would move his whole body to the side when trying to turn his race car in a game? That's because of our instinct to physically interact with the environment we're experiencing. The wii is the only console I know of that lets you go through the real motions of what you're doing in the game, and that is revolutionary, bad games/graphics or not.

Your choice of console all comes down to what you want out of it. The PS3 wins if your a loner with $$$ but if you really like to play with friends, you shoud get the 360 for its online features.

The PS3 and the 360 both require a lot of $$$. In addtion, about %50 of their games are M and %40 percent are T. This means that if your a kid, the Wii has an edge. What's the point of spending $400 on a console, $60 on games, and $2,000 on an HDTV all so that your kid can play Viva Pinata?

So that's why the Wii can, in some cases, win. and btw, shut up about not being anti-Wii. Take pride in your intelligence, dude!

Lots of reasons really

1. The price. Much more affordable
2. It is simple - anyone (even your grandmother) can just pick up the controller and play. Try giving grandma an xbox controller - good luck
3. It is FUN - what a change from the video games we are used to.

Now, I am not saying that the other consoles are BAD. Just, the Wii is a refreshing change of pace.
