20 inch rims tire pressure?

When I got 20's put on my grand am the guy said that I should keep my air at about 40. My old 16s I usually kept at 32-35 lbs so does this sound right? I know 20s are bigger rims but my tires are extremely thin

Check the tire side wall for the recommended PSI. Remember the recommendations are at the tire's maximum load. Adjust the pressure accordingly.
