The Chamber of Commerce is an member organization of local business within any particular town. The purpose and intent of a local chamber of commerce is to pool resources, network, and gain exposure for each member business. Combined, a chamber of commerce carries lobbying weight in local politics and is often involved in economic development within the area.

Aside from specific trade associations, the chamber of commerce is an organization any business should join.

The purpose of the local Chamber of Commerce is really to promote the locality that the chamber represents. It's kind of like a pep ralley organization for a city which has all business people included. It's a great way to network too
