In short...
The two top teams in each group goes through to the Super 8s...taking their points against the second team with them.
Sri LAnka 2
Australia 2
West Indie 2
New Zeeland 2
England 0
Ireland 0
S/Africa 0
B/desh 0
Current in this order standing determined by Run Rate.
Each team will play the other teams except the one that they have played against in their previous groups.
The top four teams will play 1 against 4 and 2 against 3 in the semis.
Winners in these matches will play in the final in Barbados on the 28 of April.

The top two teams in each group will proceed to the "Super 8" stage. This will also use a league system. Each team will carry forward its result against the other team qualifying from its preliminary stage group, and will play the other six qualifying teams once each.
The top four teams in the "Super 8" will advance to the Semi-Finals. This is the knockout stage, with the #1 team playing the #4 team, and the #2 team playing the #3 team in the tournament. The winners of each game proceed into the Final.
All tournament matches will have one reserve day (the day after the scheduled day of the match) to allow for matches to be completed in the event of bad weath

because of the fact we are maximum susceptible, and unsure to win against any group.we can't do any element different than in accordance with others blunders. If Bangladesh unfastened against Srilanka, If Srilanka unfastened against India. If Bangladesh wins against Bermuda yet, if our internet run fee is larger then XYZ communities...!!! India may be qualified to play in great 8. As consistent with media comments, because of the fact the earnings from India is amazingly huge, if India would not play in great 8 or extra, earnings of organisers,sponsorers, bookies and so on. and so on. would be affected.to circumvent one in each of those undertaking, one and all of those may be affected people might help. So our heros might have a huge gamble to win a worldwide cup. you spot; there are various many factors different than for playing stable cricket !!.

Super 8 is OK,but the round leading to super 8 could hane been better.Because one bad day resulted in the elimination of two top test playing nations.

super 8's works in the world cup coz the selected eight teams play there level best to reach for the semi finals and finally they dont hav regrets that they hav nt got the chance to show there performance coz already they hav played so much.and the finalist our the best choice.
