He plays soccer and loves video games, and he has a girlfriend, he's also into some kinds of rap music (like Eminem) and he likes outdoor sports. He already has a scooter, a bike, an iPod (the big one), Xbox 360 and plenty of games, and a working cell phone. Since he has already gotten all the cool stuff, what would be a good gift??? (Yes I know he's probably already spoiled, but he has 2 sets of parents and too many grandparents to count, so not much I can do there.) Thanks for any advice!

To the person who asked why I knowingly let a 15 year old listen to eminem, I don't believe that limiting what music he listens to fall into my purview of my role as "Stepmother." Also, he listens to what he wants to, and he gets good grades and stays out of trouble, so maybe rather than taking away everything that kids like to keep them out of trouble, people should try actually PARENTING. Why would you answer this question with such a cliche' opinion? It's his birthday, not my judgment day.

I Tunes give card for his IPod, then he can download music or videos, perfect gift for this IPod owner, I'm sure he hasn't used up all the space on the big ipod.

Being 15, he may not think this is the best gift he could receive right now, but I'd bet he'd look back on it and really appreciate it...give him a gift certificate to spend the day with you out and about...just the two of you. Maybe movie and lunch somewhere, shopping at the mall and eating junk food there, putt-putt golf and ice cream afterwards...just some ideas. Boys this age sometimes get so wrapped up in their lives that they forget they are special to us and we enjoy their company.

You could just fix his favorite meal and stay at home, playing his video games with him...threaten to ground him if he beats you! ;-)

Happy birthday to him!

I have 3 stepsons (11, 14, 16). They are all into i tunes cards for music downloads. They are all into videogames, too. They love the new Wii. It gets them up and moving, too. Maybe you could take him somewhere for his birthday (Cedar Point or some amuzement park...) Good Luck!

sometimes men go into midlife crisis as far as wanting to have fancy sport cars and doing things that they missed out on when they were younger. but I truly believe that these men are unstable and immature. I also think that most men don't go through this period of leaving their wives if they are happy in their marriage. plus 40 is not old by the standards of today. you can't even tell if a woman is 40 years old by just looking at her. so cheer up and don't pay any attention to what they say.

Honestly, this may sound ridiculous, but as a fellow teenager, I would purchase a gift card for a book store, like Barnes and Noble or something like that. Video games ruin a child's potential, there is also research that proves it is one of the leading causes of ADHD and obesity. Giving him a gift card would be great because he can choose a book that he would really want.

You can never go wrong with that, children do not need so many electronics, call me old fashioned, but a good book would be great.

When my son turned 15, I got him two tickets to a concert he really wanted to go to and let him take a friend of his. I drove but didn't go with him.... it was his first concert without parental annoyances. :) I think the best thing about it was the fact that he had the excitement of the gift, the build of excitement as he waited for the concert and the day of the concert itself so it was a gift that hung around a long time.

My youngest son is 14 and can't wait to turn 15 so he can go to a concert by himself so the gift must've been a good one. :)

Take him out to lunch/dinner and give him a card with a gift card from the mall. And buy him some good cake. Invite his girlfriend along.
