I keep hearing & reading that people with ITT Tech degrees usually don't get good jobs and that they end up in jobs that aren't classified in the field they studied at the institute. I'm set to begin there at ITT in a few months to obtain my degree in Criminal Justice and my fiancee is there now working on his degrees in Multimedia and Game Design. Does anyone know if this is true and why? I'd really like to know if I'm making a mistake.

I really dislike Tech institutes. Everyone I know that has a tech "degree" says it is worthless.

- Many companies do not value these "degrees"
- The work you put in at a tech institute is rarely transferable to a 2-year or 4-year college

I really recommend going the community college / four year college route.

these Tech institutes charge so much but there degrees are not transferable to any 2 year or 4 year college and i don't know about ITT but most of those schools are not even accredited. besides any one can just go and enroll them self at an institute like that. i tried to get my mom to go back to school and she can't even speak English properly but they enrolled her "WITHOUT " an entrance exam.. (of course she did not go back though) but good luck. a lot of community colleges have vocational or like 2 year degree programs. almost all CC have AS degree or you can get a degree in criminal Justice from a community college that might be better.

Morning or afternoon everyone.

Well despite what everyone is hearing or what they have heard, I am a ITT-Tech grad. I recieved my bachelors in Construction Management and I wouldn't say it has been a total waste. I had to take a entrance exam to be accepted in but that was at the Norfolk,VA location. I have had some success with the degree from this school; I landed my first job within 6 months making descent money but then again I have years of experience in the field of study. I would say to it all depends on your motivation and determination to sell your education and your experience to land a job. I have friends that recieved engineering degrees from great college's that honostly work at department stores and thats because lack of actual experience and because of the location. If you want a jump start in your career field overseas jobs, with an overseas job your required to do more then just what your field of education is in so that will stand out to stateside employers. So take it for whats it's worth.
