How many guys are concerned with being over hairy? I am a very successful person with a very, very beautiful wife. Yet, I still have a big hang-up on being overly hairy. There is hardly an inch of me that doesnt have hair on it. My wife actually was attracted to me becuase I was hairy. Yet, I still struggle with this, especially back, shoulder, neck hair. I get that feeling like I am not normal, or what is accepted as normal for guys. Anyone else feel this way if you are a male?? Im realy considering laser hair removal. My wife thiks its ridiculous and that it is a waste. Anyone else had it done with good results. This is really like some emotional baggage for me. I eally just want to be able to go swim with my kids, play basketball in a tank top, or even wear a tee-shirt without feeling self-conscious about me being so hairy. Any thoughts greatly appreciated

I am with you...I just hate hair. From the time I was a kid I had hairy legs and had hair on my balls before anyone else. I had some laser treatments done on my neck and it was great. The attached site(s) have providers from around North America and they rank them according to in depth customer surveys of previous patients.

Get it done, its worth it. My beautiful wife had told me not to worry about it too.

If laser hair removal will make you happy, then do it. This is your choice, and I am shocked that your wife would not consider how you are affected emotionally by being so hairy. I know that it is hard to accept anything about your body that seems to stray from the social norm for a man, and you may feel self concious about something that no one else even notices. If it will make you happy, do it with no hesitation. I would appreciate hearing back from you about what hair you'd be getting removed, or how it went after you have the procedure done.

If it helps, I'm with your wife -- I think a hairy man is mega-sexy. It would be a shame to destroy your beautiful hair!

It's your body, so do as you like. But your wife may feel really deprived, as she married a hairy man and thought you would stay the way you were. How would you feel if your very beautiful wife had plastic surgery (strictly cosmetic breast reduction, maybe?) to get rid of some body element that attracted you to her in the first place? How about if she also ran up a big debt doing so?

Have you ever considered WHY you feel that your hair is a liability? It could be that you have body-image issues beyond the hair. It would be a shame to destroy your sexy hair and then find you still were not happy with your appearance. Please consider all the consequences first. But, bottom line is that it's your body, your decision.

Here is my thought: Life is short. It should be enjoyable. Get the laser treatments. It will take 6 months or so of visits. It is totally worth it, ONLY because it's an issue for you. Your wife, though beautiful, is way off on this one. Let her go a year with no makeup, hair color, etc. before you let her tell you that vanity is ridiculous. One piece of advise, and I am not joking (though I know it sounds silly): If there is a "gay district" in your city, go to a hair removal place there. A woman doing this procedure who isn't used to doing it on men might "overly manicure" you, giving you a plastic look. It doesn't feel good, but think of the freedom never having to address this issue again! Never feeling funny at the gym, or whatever.

I am kinda the same way. My wife says that she likes a manly man and wants me to have hair. But I don't feel like its very attractive. I'm not saying that I don't want any of it, chest hair and the other usual spots are fine. But the back, shoulder and neck hair really needs to go. She waxes it for me but that gets old and painful. I've thought about hair removal but have heard it is expensive, so either the price will need to come down or wait till I get rich. Not sure of any other way...

If you don't feel confortable they way you are you should definitely go for laser hair removal. Like many said before it's going to be expensive but you can always get a free consultation/estimate and easy flexible payments. Just in case you need a reccomendation you should try Sona MedSpa, they have great services and guarranty their job.

I am the same way, I am 19 and the the genetics are kicking in with my body hair(I hate it). Laser hair removal takes multiple procedures and they are very expensive. Getting it done on a large portion of your body can put you in debt if you aren't rich enough to afford it.

My opinion is if you can't be comfortable with yourself the way you are, then you should work on that before you change who you are.

If it will make you feel better, then do it. But if your wife likes it then don't worry about it. Take it from me, there'e NOTHING like a nice hairy man to come home to!
