and i want a good grade. three guys asked me to be in their group and they are not the hardest working student. my friend asked me to be in his group and he is smart and i want to be in his group, plus they have a space open for another student and i want to go to his group. what shoulkd i do?

I guess you can look at it two ways:

1. If you are confident in your abilities, take the three guys who don't work hard. You will have to do the bulk of the work, but you will be more in control of the project. This can potentially be a good thing, provided you make it clear you did most of the work.

2. If you do not think you can handle the bulk of the work yourself and are concerned the other guys will bring you down, join the friend's group. It will likely be less work for you, and you won't have to worry as much that the others will adversely affect your grade.

Ultimately, you need to do whatever is going to be best for YOUR grade. Whoever you choose, politely decline the other group and wish them luck!

be in your friends group. those three guys are probably just using you for your smarts. it happens to all of us geniuses every once in awhile. despite the fact that some of the guys may be good looking, nice, whatever, seeing as they are not so hard working would mean that you are going to end up doing most of the work. so your best chances are to work with your friend. Youll get more out of the project including a better grade.
