How soon did you start showing with your first pregnancy? I'm starting to get a round, hard little tummy, and according to my ultrasound I'm only 13 1/2 weeks! People who don't know me probably just think I'm chubby, but my friends, family, and I can see I'm getting ROUND, especially from the side. It's kind of an awkward stage for clothes, you know...not quite big enough for maternity tops, but oo big for my normal tops. I'm not having twins, I wasn't really skinny to begin with, and I've actually lost 7 pounds since I got pregnant. I know every pregnancy is different, but I just wondered if anyone else started to show this soon?

I started showing around 12 weeks. I wasn't especially thin before getting pregnant either, and I've also lost weight during my pregnancy.

This is my first, and I am now 20 weeks, and I have lost 14 pounds, but my belly is definitely a pregnant belly. There is no mistaking it.

Women just show at different times, at 13 weeks, some women will still have a 6 pack, and others will look unmistakably pregnant. As far as clothes, I'm still not wearing maternity clothes. You should just try buying longer tops in one size larger than you normally wear. That's what I've been doing and it's working out so far.

Good luck!

I had a huge growth spurt between 12 and 15 weeks. At 12 weeks, I just looked like I was a bit chubby but by 15 I was obviously pregnant and wearing maternity pants. I lost 6 pounds up until week 14 and then I started gaining again. I am now (at 22 weeks) up 8 pounds from my beginning weight and have grown out of a lot of my maternity pants already, so I had to buy more. Your belly growth will slow down a bit after about week 18 when the sudden growth spurt in your baby slows down, so don't be afraid that your baby will be huge. Be proud of that cute little bump!

I think for a lot of women the uterus expands pretty quickly...just because you are already showing doesn't mean you are going to have a large baby. I didn't start showing until 5 months and I lost about 25lbs when I was pregnant. Its a good thing I wasn't a skinny person or that would have been a serious problem. I wasn't trying to lose the weight...I was just sick all the time but my baby is fine. She's 7 months old now. I wouldn't worry...you're fine.

I was showing at 12 weeks with our first, I am pregnant again and I am 10 weeks and already showing!! And I agree I hate this part where you cant wear maternity clothes yet but your clothes are getting too small, so I just wear the "comfy" clothes the stretchy pants. I just weighed 103lbs before I got pregnant!

I started showing at about 18 weeks. I'm in maternity garb now at 21 weeks. Tops weren't so much my problem, my pants got too tight quickly.... I lost my waist fast. I used a rubberband to loop around my button and through the hole to extend them just a bit. Congrats and good luck. =-)

TEN GROWTH MILESTONES AT THIRTEEN TO SIXTEEN WEEKS
By the end of the 16th week, you can easily feel your grapefruit-sized uterus midway between your pubic bone and your navel. Let's look at 10 growth milestones during this month:

Your little "peach" is about the size of a peach!
Baby doubles her length and nearly quadruples her weight.
She is around five inches long and weighs around four ounces at the end of the 16th week.
Her arms lengthen this month and she can flex her arms, clasp her hands, and suck her thumb. Her legs lengthen, and kicking intensifies (you probably don't feel it yet).
Her bones (arms, hands, and legs) form and are visible on x-ray or ultrasound.
Baby "breathes" amniotic fluid in and out through the developing air passages and tiny sacs in her lungs.
Her external ear folds are becoming more developed, as is her hearing, enabling her to react to sounds.
She develops her own unique fingerprints.
Blood vessels proliferate at a rapid rate and show through baby's thin, still transparent skin.
The placenta becomes the prime producer of pregnancy hormones you will continually need to nourish your baby and yourself, and your baby now free floats in her own bubble of amniotic fluid, contained in an amniotic sac. By the 16th week, there is enough amniotic fluid for doctors to safely enter the fluid- filled sac by a procedure called amniocentesis.

LOL you know i went through the same thing and this is my third pregnancy. Its common for larger girls to show sooner. This is due to the uterus pushing out and thus taking our "layer" with it. I am 15 weeks and am already feeling fetal movement. Congrats and dont worry about it. It doesnt mean your gonna have a 20lb baby!!

It can also depend on your height. My husband's niece was not tiny either (Not fat, but not thin) but she is only 4'11" and by the time she was 8 weeks she looked like she was 4 months along.
