That's a great deal for you. Not bad for the guy who gets Howard either. He's a freak.
Dye is very underrated. Hopefully it's not too much of a power drain for you, but it's a good deal.

Hang on! Don't Panic!! I know it looks bad on paper, you just gave up Ryan Howard. I myself am a Phillies fan, I know how you feel. However, I appluad you on the trade, I think you are making out well.
First off Jermaine Dye is very underrated and has some solid hitters in that lineup to help him out...(Thome, Konerko...) I expect him to hit almost as well as last year, and trust, that'll be just fine.
Now for Tejada. Excellent player. The reason this is really great for you is that SS is the second thinest fantasy spot behind 2B. It's HARD to get a good SS. You have Tejada who is top 3! He's a batter who can hit .325 crack 30 - 40 HR's and bring in plenty of runs and rbi's. He wont TOTALLY make up for losing Howard, but you got Dye too to help out there ok??
Another nice point for you is there are a lot of 1B to replace Howard with. I don't know who else you have, but look at picking up or trading for some underrated power sticks like Nick Swisher and Adam LaRoche
Have a great season !!!!

I always say the team that acquires the BEST player in a trade is the winner. Here, Ryan Howard is clearly the best player in the deal. In fact, he's probably the 2nd best run producer in all of baseball next to Pujols. I definitely think you'll see a regression in Dye's stats- that season came out of nowhere and he's on the wrong side of 30 yrs old. I love Tejada, but his HR and RBI production have tailed in '05 and '06.

I would do it. TJ is one year removed from being a top 5 guy. He is a SS +++ and also will get 100 runs 30-35 homers with 100 rbi's
Dye will not get as good numbers but will get 100 r 25 homers and 100 rbi's .
Now Howard is awsome and I wish him the best of luck but without someone behind him protecting him he is in big trouble. He will get 100 50 120.... But dye and TJ will get that toegether plus they are better positions
THIS IS A GREAT TRADE DO IT!.... Especially if you have Tiex on the bench... Great job for you!

It depends on your team. Howard plays a deep position so if you have another OF and SS, then you did well. I think you could have gotten more than Howard for those guys but it's ok.
Now you can go trade Howard for another decent 1B and help in another position. It's much more likely that Howard gets close to his 2006 numbers than Dye. Good luck

Yeah, you lost that deal. Dye and miggy are declining, while howard's just beginning to kick ***. If you were really weak on offense, though, its not too bad....think of the differences over the replacement players. If Dye and Tejada are projected to gain you more HR, RBI, and Runs over who you had there before compared to your new 1b, then its not bad.

Ouch- for you. I don't think Dye will be anywhere near last year- I do love Tejada though. I would have to see the rest of your team, but to give up (imo) the 2nd best hitter in baseball.....

yeah it can look good on paper but who do you have to take out of your lineup. I think you are better off with Howard and a border waiver guy like a Cameron or Dave Roberts. Instead of Dye and Miggy. Take a look and add the stats of the guy you have to lose out of your lineup and you should get a good assessment of your trade.
