Marriage is for committing to each other for the rest of your lives. Not all married couples have children or want to have children. When you get married you tell somebody that you are in love with them and only them and will not be with anybody else until you die.

Not in my opinion but everyone feels differently. Children are a big responsibility and cost a lot of money. Even the best children can be a handful. I'm not even for marriage because I think it's really hard getting along with another person all the time. It's nice to have a companion but it's also nice to have your own space to come and go as you please.

Yes it is. If you don't plan on having kids then there is no reason to go through with all the legalities...unless of course you just want people to buy you some dish towels and a toaster.

Why not just keep dating? A break up is a lot easier than the eventual divorce.

Marriage and children go hand and hand.

Would you drive to the airport if you wanted to take a bus?

Marriage is a vow to take care of the one you love - in sickness and in health till death do you part. To remain faithful to and love only that person for the rest of your life. And to make sure they are taken care of (legally). Having children is a choice that some married people make - and some don't!

Having children has nothing to do with being married. Marriage is a bond that people go into because they are in love and want to spend their lives together.

NO! Marriage is supposed to be a for two people who want to spend the rest of their lives together and want to make that commitment to each other. If you choose to have kids then more power to you. But I have never heard that just because you get married that you have to have children. Hope this helps.

I suppose that depends on what religious influence yo have been raised with. I would say that marriage is expected to be followed by child rearing BUT...the times are changing.
I am one of those people who had children out of wedlock...I am married to my youngest daughters father (and happily) but I had her 5 weeks before we got married.
I think the answers for this are going to vary alot and it all depends on which side of the fence you stand on.

Not exclusively. Marriage should be for spending a life with the person who you love/respect/ want to be with forever. Children can be a wonderful byproduct and complete a family unit!

In some marriages they should never have children.

I was married to a man for 20 years...and he was not Daddy material like some men are....so we never had children...I had my children with my first husband....who was murdered.

Marriage is so that you can have the opportunity to work two jobs, keep the house, take care of the kids, not get sex and get treated like crap daily. Marriage is designed so that women can have someone to walk on so their feet dont touch the ground.
