No. People used to think hair dye soaked in through your scalp and harmed the fetus, but there is no medical evidence of this and it has been dismissed by the medical community as an old wive's tales. The only concern most doctors have about hair dye is the fumes. If the fumes contain ammonia or are just too strong, they may make you feel sick...and they may cause the baby to not get enough clean oxygen while you're dyeing. So just do the dye in a well0ventilated room, with the doors and windows open and a fan running, and you'll be fine!

I don't think that the dye itself will harm the baby, it's more or less the chemical fumes. If you breath them in too much it can be very dangerous not only to the baby but to you as well. So just make sure if you do dye your hair, you are in a well ventilated area. Try outside or by an opend window.

It makes no difference whether is light or dark, hair dye does absorb into YOUR blood stream and through the placenta. That being said, I got married at 4 months pregnant and had an AWFUL dye job that was growing out, and my doctor told me as long as I dyed darker, and used non-ammonia hair dye, and it was after 17 weeks, it's okay. Don't do it more than once though. Correct your haircolor to your natural color so that you don't want to dye it AGAIN once roots show again, but otherwise you should be okay.

I am 16 weeks pregnant and just colored my hair about 2 weeks ago. I asked the lady doing my hair if being pregnant made a difference because I couldnt remember, I thought I had heard during my first pregnancy you couldnt color your hair at all after a certain point and she told me that was not true. She said the color does not absorb into your scalp, it only colors the hair. But she said Perms are a big no-no. I think all doctors are different, you might ask yours and see what they say. Hope I helped!!

No, but it may effect you!!
Your body if changing, and your hair may not take to the dye as usual.
As a rule of thumb, avoid the harsh fumes and medicore effects of hair dye by not using it.

There are no conclusive results either way. My dr. told me it was my choice...but she recommended not doing it or waiting as long as possible & only doing it 1 time.
To me, the risks aren't worth it. I know tons of women do it & have no problems. But Heck if the kids has ADD or ADHD, maybe that played a part....I'm not willing to take the risk to get rid of some roots.

No - the amount of 'harmful' chemicals used in dye is too small.
