The fox would certainly think that it's a great idea!!
Since I tend to like cute little foxes a lot more than squawky, bity little freakin' parakeets, I'd be more inclined to just give the parakeet to the fox than wait for them to fight it out.

Being that small animals such as rodents and birds that they can catch make up the majority of a fox's diet, I would have to say...no.
