The fridge seems to be working fine, the light has nothing to do with the refrigeration section,I suggest you check the light switch as you have already replaced the lamp. The switch is spring activated when the door is opened and can be identified by a protruding piece of round or flat plastic.you can try pushing this in and out a few times and the lamp should go on and off.I suggest you have switch replaced any way (to test the power point plug another appliance in see if it works)

Freon leaking from a fridge will not have an odor. The first indication of leaking freon would be extreme build-up of frost in the freezer. As for the light, it sounds as though the filament in the bulb is broken. sometimes the two parts will make contact, and sometimes not. Or, the bulb may be loose in the socket. First check for looseness, if that doesn't pan out, change the bulb. If neither works satisfactorily, you may have a bad light switch. Try opening the door wide, locating the switch and push it with your finger, rapidly, several times.

Sounds more than anything, like a light bulb going bad. If you have a temperature probe, place it in the fridge and see what temp you have. Also, do you have ice? To see if the fridge is running, just open the door and turn the temp setting to full cold, the compressor should kick on. If it does then it is running and you can return the setting to the normal setting.

put a thermometer in the fridge and check your temp simple. bulbs can go without the fridge itself being broken. fridges usually go quite quickly when the gas starts to leak. its probably fine just the bulb.

It is more than likely a duff bulb or the contact switch is faulty, if you had a gas leak then the fridge would not work any more at all.

if the gas is leaking you will not know it has no sell, and there is only a small amount anyway.however you will notice if the fridge starts to defrost . it sounds like the bulb is just loose, remove cover and check,

Refrigerants (freon) used in refrigerators & other cooling equipment is odorless & colorless. The appliance would quit cooling immediatley if it lost its freon.
