If so, experiences? Is it still just as good as not knowing?

:)

Thanks!

Well, if you really want to marry this person then it shouldn't make any difference if you "knew" they were going to pop the question! I helped design my engagement ring so yes, I "knew". Being surprised would have been cool too, though.

Yes, I knew. One month after I met my now husband, he asked me to go ring shopping with him. We found the perfect ring but we wanted to go to a few more stores. We decided after looking some more that the first ring we saw was the right one, so 3 months later at a pre-Christmas charity event, he proposed in front of a room full of people. I was expecting it, just not there!!! It was beautiful; felt like we were the only two in the room. We've been married 2 years now and together for a total of 4 years.

My wife had NO IDEA I was going to propose, and that was because I HAD NO IDEA I was going to do it! It just came out. We were talking about kids, and the future, just making talk, when I said, "You know, we've been talking a lot about children, but I've never officially asked you to marry me..." I didn't know what exactly to say. I couldn't just hop out of bed and kneel.

Her intake of breath was more like, "Oh no, he's going to tell me something I don't want to hear! I said, "Since I haven't asked, why don't we make it official?" So it was what she wanted to hear, but she didn't expect it at all! She threw her arms around me, and said, "Yes" with tears streaming down her face. So, she had absolutely no idea because it just came out!

Happiest day of my life, though!

EDIT: If I had it to do over, I would have done a better job of asking her!

I remember back in the fall of 05, I had a feeling I was going to be proposed too, we talked about it and suttle hints were being thrown my way. But I still didn't know exactly 'WHEN' per say.....we aren't together anymore thankfully, but to me; I would want it to be a complete suprise. No hints or anything! It would be very special and private moment, you know?

My now-husband was drunk and told me. He didn't remember he told me the next day. When I said something, he said, "Oh, I told you that? I don't keep secrets very well, do I? I need to stop drinking." I didn't know when or how, though, so it was still kind of surprising.

I did kind of "know" it was coming...and I'm glad, it gave me time to really ponder over our relationship, pray about it, and decide what I would say BEFORE the words actually came out of his mouth. That was nice.

I've had both, One where I KNEW he was going to, and one where I had NO IDEA. The no idea one was definitly my favorite way to go. It was so shocking and such a surprise. I loved it.
