a good focuse decision by clearing out of my view the different subject books, and chose a select dozen for reference to the goal I have set befor me?thank you.

If you have gotten rid (out of sight , out of mind) so to speak, of the books that do not pertain to your goal at hand, then, YES.

All types of refference is the best to have available as much as possible. Limiting that limits you via what's contained within said refference materials.
