Alexei - that men name was very popular back in 30-50s in Russia. No variation of that name was used for girls. Short name was Lesha (pron L-i-o-sh-a, Leha). Not popular in Russia for a long time. Never heard of anyone named Alexei here. Look for the Montreal Canadians hockey player Alexei Kovalev.
