I've heard Alessandra many times.. but I'm not a fan. I ADORE Isabella. It's timeless, classic, fashionable but not trendy, sweet but sophisticated... perfect. And even if she doesn't like it, there are so many nicknames she can pull from it! I knew an Isabella whose nicknames were Bella, Bell, Isa, Izzie and B throughout her life.

I love the name Isabella. In fact I had planned to name my baby that if it's a girl. After reading all the questions posted on this site. . . I realized how popular it is. So if you don't mind a popular name, go for it . . . but if you prefer something that is less comon, go with alessandra. They are both beautiful names.
Isabella's orgins is from Italy and it means consecrated to God.
I could not find the meaning of Alessandra or the orgin. Sorry!

I absolutely love the name Isabella but I have never heard the name Alessandra before but it does sound really pretty. It all depends on the middle name and the last name.

Alessandra is a foreign name that most everyone in the U.S. pronounces as Alexandra. Be kind to your daughter, and go with either Alexandra or Isabella. Both are pretty, but you'd need to decide if you like Alex or Izzie (or Bella)?

I love the name Isabella, but Alessandra is a little too much. Try alexandra, or alexandria. It sounds like your trying to put a funky spin on the name, and it ain't working.
