You should really enjoy the last year you have before becoming an adult. Trust me its not all what its cracked up to be kid. We all say that because we long for the days we had no responsibility to just enjoy life. The problems of adults become your problems too when you turn 18 why would you want to rush it, yes I realise you don't understand what we are saying but as long as we are adults we are totally responsible for our actions, so if you go to that party at 18 and get drunk and steep with someone and get a disease or get pregnant, you then have to deal with the idea that you wanted to go to the party, you wanted to get drunk you wanted to have sex and now you have a kid to raise, So you tell me why do we adults always say enjoy your childhood, because we were you at one time and we did get drunk at the party and have to raise a child, so please go easy on us adults we are just trying to get the young adults to recognise that life isn't alwasy a bowl of cherries. Take care Heather

I think it's fine to get right out to college and go to night clubs and parties. What you shouldn't rush is marriage and kids. You should focus on your education and career, and have fun when you have the chance. Take this time to date various people and get any experimentation out of your system, and stay out of serious relationships and commitments. Play the field, and be safe about it.

Then, when you are around 25 years old and are out of college and working in your career, that's the time to pursue your aspirations for marriage and kids. By that time in your life, you know who you are, know what you want out of life, know what you want in a spouse and lover, and have the general life experience to be confident that you chose the right person to start a family with.

Some people think they want a family, and then come to realise after they have matured and tasted unmarried life that they have changed their minds. For some, the opposite happens. At this time, you can't be sure of what you'll want 10 years from now, and your tastes will change over time.

So, I only kind of agree. It is fun being over 21 and being able to go out to clubs and party, and to date around and such. Don't rush into a relationship until you've experienced all of that.

I hate to say it and sound like others....being an adult is not all that it is cracked up to be. I was just like you when I was younger. I got married at 18, had my first child at 19 and divorced at 25. Enjoy what you have while you have it. Understand that as an adult you get to make choices, but every choice as consquences. Yes it is fun to go to the clubs, but getting up at 7 am with a hangover and having to go to work to pay for your car, rent, phone, money to party, food etc. Kids today have more rights then ever before. Good luck to you and let life happen as you get older

Yes, you are rushing. All those things will come soon enough, some sooner than you like, you will find. Take it from some one who thought they did good things for all the right reasons. Most of mine turned into regrets. Some may say that's not right, but then some may not have a conscience. You should know your self better first, ask your self what you are really searching for. Plan, re-plan and check your plans; but you know what is said about the best laid plans of mice and men. You think you don't have time to waste, but time gets shorter the more mistakes you make. It will all come in due season.

I couldn't wait to turn 18 and graduate from high school so I could move away and go to college. I think that's normal. But you might want to slow down just so you can enjoy this time in your life. You don't want to rush it too much so that you are not having fun with it. You should enjoy your last year - once you go to college things change. Good luck to you!

Yes enjoy being a kid because when your an adult
you are going to have bills to pay, a job, marriage
and kids are all works in progress with daily
changes in temperament and activities, plus with
kids you don't get to do the night clubbing and party
thing or at least not as much. I'm telling you
enjoy yourself as long as possible marriage and
kids can wait.

Yea, you're rushing it. You'll look back in your later yrs & relize that even though you couldn't legally do as much fun stuff, it was more fun back then. Your parents helped pay for everything, you didn't have a lot of resposibilities, you didn't have to work your butt off, & you didn't waste all your money on useless drunken nights that only got you into trouble. Slow down, the time will come, enjoy how your life is not.

haha good luck... Everyone think that way until they're 18 then they want to go back.

Here's some of common problem you will have daily. Pictures yourself in this situtation:

You have only 30 dollars, you have enough grocery to last only two days and you know your friends are gonna to go out for dinner this week. You doesn't get next check for a week and most of it will go to rent. So you have very little left for grocery. Plus you'll be really exhausted from college and work. Would you really want to work overtime and still go out then get up in morning?

Life isn't as glamour as it look. So be careful for what you wish for.

Trust me. Enjoy your last year of high school. It will be the last time that you can do what you want without having to pay bills, change diapers, get home to walk the dog, call your hubby so he doesn't worry about you. Being an adult isn't all that. It is about having freedom, but you have to think things thru and just worry more.

Good Luck & Have fun!!!!

Ohh please take it from someone way past 18, ENJOY!! The real world though it comes with some freedoms is a hard place to navigate. Trust me, I thought the same way you did but now, I wish I was 18 again.

Sure you get to vote but you also get to pay taxes
You get to club and party- Sure but now you have to make sure you make enough money to support the party
Live on your own? Psht yepper and pay rent and utilities and property taxes and grocery bill and so on..
