Yogurt is supposed to help regulate your stomach and extra fiber gives the acid something to work on. I do think that what many people call acid reflux could be an ulcer, gall stones or something similar. I can assure anyone who questions gall stones that they are horribly painful, frequently misdiagnosed and cause very similar symptoms. The best thing for anything having to do with stomach problems is to eat unprocessed food (in other words don't eat if it comes out of a box or a can or is ready to heat and eat) and lots of vegetables.

I too suffer with Acid Reflux and I'm on medication for it but I've had to stop drinking coffee and try to limit my intake on fatty and greasy foods. I am trying to lose a bit but it's not easy.

I would like to add one in addition to stopping the eating of acidic foods. That is weight loss. If you are over weight this is a major contributor to reflux.

I only know of one too.... ginger root juice
That doesn't CURE the cause it just alleviates the symptoms, there may still be something wrong that will continue doing harm. I suggest you go to a good GI doc and get checked out. Just don't take the PPI's or whatever he tries to prescribe you.

DIgestive enzymes, also called pancreatic enzymes, that contain lipase, protease, and amalase taken with each meal will take care of reflux. I have heard of people taking them with each meal for a month or more no longer even need them. You can buy them very cheaply in the vitamin aisle.

I am not a doctor, but I've been advised to change my diet (no fried foods, sodas, fatty foods, tomatoes, peppers, orange or grapefruit juice, DEFINITELY NO ASPIRIN, etc.), stop using caffeine and chocolate (there is no way I could do that), and to prop up my bed so that my esophagus is elevated during sleep. Oh yeah, avoid excessive stress and take meds.
The user who said it's nothing to play with is right. It leads to ESOPHAGEAL CANCER which is one of the most aggressive and FATAL cancers. But I can't quit drinking coffee!

triple therapy to cure reflux is usually two antibiotics and a proton pump inhibitor..the antibiotics reduce any bacteria and the proton pump inhibitor lines the stomach and prevents reflux...although this is conventional medicine and not complementary..it may be what u need to do to help the symptoms

,fat chocolate ,aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs all aggravated my reflux, u should sleep propped up and take zoton(lanzaprole), i ended up getting a wee operation to cure it, they tucked the end of my oesophagus over itself under a local anaesthetic(plenty of sedation) and after a few days i was cured
