No one is responsible for any marriage breakup except for the couple. A happy couple can not be split up by anyone on the outside. The problem comes from within. If someone has an affair, it's not the fault of the person they are cheating WITH. It's easier sometimes to blame someone else than admit things were not as happy as they could have been, but is serves no practical purpose. Facing the truth is the only way to learn from the experience.

There is a legal theory about someone that breaks up a marriage but sueing someone will get you nothing but a big legal bill. If people could hold a lover of a married person responsible for ending a marrage the courts would never get anything done. Lets face it the statistics are that about 5 out of 10 people cheat, the court system would be at a standstill.

You know I think you can attempt to sue a person in a civil court but you would have to have a pretty damn good reason and proof.
Honestly, though, I would have to say that NO ONE and I mean NO ONE outside the relationship is actually responsible for "breaking up" a marriage, It is between the husband and wife...those are the two who vowed together and are ultimately responsible for where the relationship stands or ends. An outside person may have contributed to the situation by behavior but ultimately had no "true responsibility" or obligation to be faithful or "make it work". SO, if your upset...you need to own your role and understand that it was the EX partner who made the decision to punk out.

Unfortunately, yes. It's called "divorce court," and in it, you take your spouse to court, and you go too. Thus, both of the parties responsible for the breakup of your marriage, you and your spouse, are both in court.

It takes two too tango, But when something goes sour, It's usually not the "other" person's fault. The marriage was on the rocks already. The 'Other" person may be the one who gets mixed up in the mess

Some states still allow you to 'name' someone in a divorce but it's sort of an old-fashioned custom. I guess I think the responsibility lies with your husband, not this other woman.

Yes, Depends on what state you are in, but say that you are the wife and your husband cheated on you over and over, and the woman that he slept with knew that he was married, you can sue her under the alienation of affection law, but your state also has to accept it as their state law, it is not a federal law but can be accepted as a state.
