hongkong is a very friendly city. when travelling around hongkong, purchase an octupus card because it would be very helpful as you will use it on the mtr and bus systems.

i haven't been to hongkong so can't help you with that.

in manila i recommend you make hotel reservations in the Makati area which is a safe place to stay for foreigners.

Greenbelt & Glorietta in Makati has lots of shops, restos, bars & clubs

Baywalk along Roxas Blvd for dinner and music by the bay

CCP for plays/concerts

Tagaytay for out of town nature trip

Puerto Galera in a neighboring island if you'd like to see a nice beach close to Manila

Email me if you wanna know more. I now live here in the states and misses Manila lots!

HongKong is great. My suggestion try going to Victoria's Peak...you can get a tram in Central Station which I think is in the red lane. Then you can go to Lantau Island to see the gigantic Buddha. Then there are a lot of flea market in HongKong.

For Manila...alot of good historical site to visit. I can get back to you on list to do if you want.
