what is the average bra size for an 11-12 yr old girl
(6th grade)
My daughter is upset, because she dosen't think she's average.
She wears a 36B
is this bigger than average?
Please be honest, i'll tell her she's average no matter what, but i just want to know.

she's actually just very tall.
she's 5'2" and 102 lbs.

She is bigger than average. Most 11-12 year old girls are wearing training bras. I know I was, along with more than half the other girls my age. Right now she feels insecure because the other girls don't measure up. Plus the immature boys are probably staring and making comments. You could try having her wear a sports bra instead of a regular one since it smashes them. Then by the time she gets into high school the other girls will have caught up and she can feel a lot better about herself.

Yes, her size is a lot larger than the average 12 year old. Most girls have a max of size A at that age. However, that age is when they start to become conscious of that body part, and your daughter is blessed in the eyes of every girl in her school. Yes she might be a bit unconfident about her size, but same goes for the girls that are still in AA. It's a very awkward stage, and boys are starting to become aware too, you can just tell her that her size is normal and she will be thankful for it in a couple years. Also, she is not fat from the details you shared, plus she definatly has some time to slim down. A girl's breasts are supposed to stop growing 2 years after they start their cycle, but if they start earlier, than they are granted a bit more time, so it all depends on the girl.

Weren't you just asking size you were in pants and bra, with the mesurements of about an 11 year old?
I honestly don't think you're wondering about your "daughter", and more so about yourself. If it is about you, and you gave the mesurements correctly, there's no way you're a 36B.
Regardless... Any size bra for any person is "average"... I'm not sure if she'd rather have small boobs or larger. But at 11-12 you're just starting to grow. Some people grow at different rates. I was about a 34B in 6th grade. Now I'm a 34D at 18, but no one's complaining. Whatever size boobs you have, is whatever size you were supposed to. Genetics play a huggeee factor in this. Also, weather or not she's on the heavy end can determine her boob size. (I was not skinny skinny like the other girls, because I had started my period before them, I was getting a more adult body before them. That also tends to happen.)
Just tell her to be happy with herself. And even if shes teased about it now by the prepubescent boys (which, she probably is being teased about.... Because, let's face it, all 6th grade boys come from hell.) give it a few years and those are the same boys that will be begging her for dates.

I was about 5'2", I think I weighed 85 or 90, I have a very small frame, and I'm pretty sure I was a 30B/32A. An A-B cup is average for most girls at this age, but it depends on their frame size. Some girls develope early and have C and D cups, some stay small and develope late and stay small or end up with C and D cups. It depends on her genetics. Who does she take after more, you or her father? Whoever it is, look at the women on this side of the family to determine what she may end up like.
That was my size and I gained 3 sizes since then as I grew older. Your daughter is just fine. She's not fat. She has a medium-large frame. Also average in the US.

I used to work for Victorias Secret, and yes they are larger than average. Most girls that age are still in training bras----which is smaller than a size A or in our very smallest 32 to 34 A.

36B actually is ABOVE average and she is a voluptuous little girl! Poor thing. Just because "the girls" are large right now, doesn't mean they will get a whole lot bigger later in life. I think you really should reference the women on both the maternal and paternal sides of the family. If most on both are large chested, chances are, Baby Girl will be too.

I'm in seventh grade, and hardly any of us are still in training bras. Actually, I think your daughter is on the larger side, but still in the average range. Most girls in my grade are a B or C.She's just a bit premature, but other girls will be jealous later.

Sounds bigger, have her wear a sports bra, that sometimes flattens the breasts. Also, help her adopt healthier eating habits and exercise so that she can tone up. She sounds a tad bit big for her age.

well she must be way fatter than the average 11 year old if she wears a 36 back! i think average for a fully grown woman is 34c, and the cup on a 36b is the same as that, so yeah, definatly bigger than average 4 her age, in terms of both boobs and fatness.

Actually, that is quite large for an 11-12 year old. My mother was a 36B when she was that age and now she's a 48DD
