Which manufacturers have this option of building custom guitars? I know Fender, B.C. Rich, but what are the others??? And which do you consider the best???

Also I wanna know which is the lowest price for custom guitar (approximately), I know that it depends on gear you have on it, but I dont need exact price. So help please if you can. Thanks.

IMO, the best place for real "full-custom" custom shop guitars is "The Guitar Custom Shop". They can hand-build ANYTHING you want, not just a cookie cutter mish-mash of CNC parts stock like you get from the so-called "customshop" divisions of Fender, Gibson, Carvin and the like.

The lowest price for a custom guitar would be for 'the simplest' custom guitar made of the least expensive materials.

If you check TheGuitarCustomShop Online Quote Maker thingy, you can save a lot by supplying a lot of the parts yourself (if you have lots of parts laying around...)

here is an example....

Your CUSTOM 6-STRING Price Quote is US$837.00

Construction Method: Traditional body shape, bolt-on neck, straight headstock $ 523
Material for neck: Maple (hard rock maple) $ 20
Neck features: Standard 3-piece (with straight or angled headstock) $ 0
Material for fretboard: Maple $ 12
Frets: Sintoms "6100" (medium tall, AKA "Jumbo") $ 6
Nut: Customer-supplied $ 0
Fret markers: No fret markers (blank fretboard) $ 0
Fretboard binding: unbound fretboard $ 0
Truss rod cover: No truss rod cover $ 0
Side markers: No side dots $ 0
Logo: Standard (silk screen Shamray logo) $ 0
Body wood: Russian Alder (lightweight - OPAQUE FINISHES ONLY) $ 22
Top wood: No top $ 0
Back wood: No decorative back $ 0
Body binding: Without binding $ 0
Finish: Any opaque color $ 0
Headstock Overlay: Standard (black) $ 0
Tone Chambers: no tone chambers (solidbody) $ 0
Scale Length: 24.75 inches $ 0
Strings: Ernie Ball $ 8
Machine heads: Customer-supplied $ 0
String-tree: No string trees $ 0
Neck Attachment: Not Applicable! (SET-NECK) $ 0
Bridge: Customer-supplied $ 0
Strap buttons: Customer-supplied $ 0
Pickguard: No pickguard $ 0
Chrome panel: No chrome panel $ 0
Neck pickup: none $ 0
Middle pickup: none $ 0
Bridge pickup: none $ 0
Pickup Bezels: no bezels $ 0
Toggle switch: no toggle switch $ 0
Output jack: EMG jack (included with pickup) $ 0
Potentiometers: no potentiometers $ 0
Pull-pots: no pull-pots $ 0
Knobs: Customer-supplied $ 0
Tone Capacitors: No Tone Caps $ 0
Battery box: No battery box $ 0
9V battery: No battery $ 0
Extra switches: No extra switches $ 0
Active Preamp: none $ 0
Active EQ: none $ 0
Piezo: none $ 0
Extras!: none $ 0
Extras! 2: none $ 0
Blueprinting: typical (2 or 3 custom features) $ 96
Case: Custom-made lightweight case (black interior) $150

depending on where you are, you'd have to add $200-250 for SHIPPING ( plus the cost of the parts you sent them...)

but i think thats the lowest price for a REAL custom guitar that you will find anywhere...

As said, Carvin is a fantastic company that builds great guitars for a good price. Ibanez has a custom shop in LA, but I hear you have to be a big time to get your built, and same with Fender and BC Rich.

You can get a Carvin Cali Archtop for about $1200 or so. I dont' think it gets any better than that.

Carvin is a really good one to look into if you want to build your own guitar. They have a site set up to let you try different options out and get price quotes.

The big names don't do anything custom except for colors and hardware... and maybe body wood choice. For that you pay big bucks.

Carvin builds to order but you are limited to their designs and colors.

If you want a TRULY custom guitar, do a search. For a TRULY custom guitar expect to pay $2000+++.
