Maybe you double ovulate. That means instead of having one ovary release an egg each month, both of them do.
You should get that checked out though because I am not a doctor.

First of all, you should go to your doctor for a check-up to be sure there isn't anything wrong. It could mean a number of things! You are young, and it's not uncommon for you to have times of irregularity while your body is still changing. Also, perhaps you are stressed about school and other goings on in your life....that can mess with your ovulation (which can make your period come later than usual, etc.) There is also what is called inovulatory cycles, where you do not ovulate (perhaps you had this with the first period). Perhaps it was during that time or shortly thereafter when you actually ovulated, causing you to bleed a second time (which would have been your actual period).
In any event, this definitely warrants a trip to the doc just to make sure things are in tip top shape! And if something is not going right, it's better to catch it now, rather than later! Good luck!

If they were two weeks apart, that's weird, but if they were just sort of closer together, it's no big deal. Mine changes from, like 25 days apart to 37 at the drop of a hat. I have to closely monitor my PMS to time when it will start sometimes, or sometimes I skip for no reason or when I'm on a diet. If it happens again, see a doctor.

If it only happened once, then it's probably ok. If it happens again you need to talk to your doctor. If you are taking the pill and you missed a couple of pills that could be why it happened. Use a back up contraceptive like condoms.

Are you on birth control pills? When I took them years ago, I had two periods in one month, once, because of the pill. Ask you gyn to be sure it's nothing serious.
