There is nothing that really needs to be done. Mostly it's a ploy to get you to bring the car to the dealer to change the oil and other standard maintenance.
I found this procedure for a 2004 CRV online, but I'm not sure if it will work for a 2006.
Turn off the engine. Press hand hold down the reset button used to reset the milage. While holding it down, turn on the key and hold the button down for 10 seconds. The light should go off.

Most auto part places have repair books for almost every model of auto and truck that can probably tell you how to reset the light. One way to reset the warning light with some cars is to disconnect the battery cable for about 30 seconds. This will also reset ALL other scheduled maintenance jobs which might not be a good thing.

The Maintenance Required light is simply a reminder to do the oil change and any other service required at that time. If you look in the owner's manual it should have a reset procedure. If you can't find it take it to any auto repair shop and have it shut off.

I would call my Honda serviceman and ask them as it could be anything from a simple reset of the car's system to a problem that is not apparent but could cause further problems. They might ask you to bring it in so they can connect to a diagnostic computer and in this case it's better to solve the light problem than to be sorry later. Hope this helps.

There are number of things that could cause the maintenance light to go off. Best bet is to take it to a auto parts store and have it scan for any codes that might be popping out. Autozone usually dose the scans for free.

the light runs off the vehicle mileage and must be manually reset once you perform service. you need to read in the owners manual how to reset this light. in most cases it's very simple and takes only a few seconds. on my highlander all i do is turn the ignition to the ON setting, this setting is normally the one right before you start the car, and hold down the trip odometer nob for a few seconds and the light resets. but my car is a toyota so i donno for sure how honda does thiers, but it can't be too much different.
good luck

You can take it to the dealer but u shouldn't be worried if you have done its oil change and maintenance. When you take it to the dealer they might charge you like 25 dollars to take the light off they have a special way of doing it.

could be time for a check up as to they hook up your car through its computer module and see if theres any problems id have it checked out even though you say car runs fine. im assuming you bougt it brandnew? Play it is safe have it checked out. could save a a bigger problem in the future.
