Spyware is a general term used to describe software that performs certain behaviors such as advertising, collecting personal information, or changing the configuration of your computer, generally without appropriately obtaining your consent first.

Spyware is often associated with software that displays advertisements (called adware) or software that tracks personal or sensitive information.

Spyware - Programs that are installed on your system to track your internet habits (sites you go to, ads you might have clicked. also steals your cookies-files that contain login info and statistical info for every site you go to...)in order to spam you with stuff you might be interested in....

look for a program from LAVASOFT called adaware..it;s pretty good at finding and deleting those..
