i don't think that your friend will mind, unless you have a reputation on cheating on your girlfriends, or are a player ,etc
1> if they are not close, then no problem
2>even if they are close, if you are a good guy, he will let you have it, because you will make a good boyfriend

Go for it just explain to your friend that you would like to take her out and if he doesn't mind can you have her number. If he's not sure about giving you her number then give him yours and ask if he can pass it on to her that way if she gets in touch you know she likes you too!! Good Luck

I'm quite sure that he would not mind, assuming you are a decent sort..!
Chances are that he would not know her too well anyway.
