You have a doctors appointment every 4 weeks until you hit 30 weeks and then you have one every 2 weeks until you hit 36 weeks in which you have one every week up until you have the baby. The first one you have they'll do a pap smear and take your blood. then they are all routine (check the baby's heart beat and measure your stomach) all the way through. the exceptions are at 18-20 weeks you'll have your first ultrasound and at around 28 weeks you'll do a glucose test which is where you drink a sugar drink and they take your blood to test your blood sugars. Then at around 36 weeks they'll start checking for dialation from then on. So it's a little confusing and depening on certain things you might have other things you have to do but that's the basic agenda for most. It also depends on your doctor for when they do what. Hope that wasn't too confusing

From the beginning until week 30 my appointments were every 4 weeks. Not a lot happens, doc answers questions, checks the heartbeat, and occasionally will have a test to run, such as the one done for gestational diabetes. Week 30-36 is every other week, pretty much the same thing. Week 36 on is every week and they check to see if you are dilating or if your cervix is thinning and stuff.
Your ultrasound to determine growth and sex is usually done between 18-22 weeks with an u/s tech.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

www.pregnancyweekly.com and www.babyzone.com have a complete list of what will happen at each visit. Also remember that most dr apt are once a month until you are 7 months and then go to twice a month until 8 months and then every week there after. Read up on those two sites. thanks for your time hope this helps you out do check the sites out and also amazon.com has a great dvd or VHS called In the womb! it was a great help to see what was going on with Baby as well as what is happening to you and what to expect. I hope this helps.

Usually your appointments are once a month until around week(they weigh you and listen for baby's heartbeat) 28 then you start going every two weeks. Once you hit week 36 you should be seeing your doctor weekly and he/she will start doing internal exams to see if you are dialating.
