is there anyone who believes that actually dumbledore isnt as good as he seems....i believe that he is against voldemort but not for different reasons...remember the look he had when voldemort returned.plus it would explain a little about his relationship with snape wouldnt it?and i dont know if this means anything to you but his name doesnt remind u of "double door"?also,i believe that both dumbledore(invisible) and snape(under the cloak) were at godrics hallow the night the potters died.

My sister always thought that he was evil. She use to say what was that look of triump when he found out Voldermort had used Harry's blood to return. However, I am the Harry Potter freak in the family and I don't believe he is evil.

Snape relationship with him is one of respect. Snape Respects him because he stood up for him when other were ready to send him off to Azkaban. Plus I think it is obvious by now that Dumbledore knows that Snape was in love with Lily. Did you ever wonder what Snape had never said a bad word against her. If he really hated Harry he would want to use every opportunity to insult him but he NEVER EVER talks about Lily. In fact the word Lily has never left his lips. He has never even said 'your mother was...' Isn't this odd behavior for Snape who went to school with her, who had the same NEWT Potions class as her and was in the Slug Club with her to never mention her, not even once.

Then When he is teaching Harry occlumency he gets upset when he sees Harry's memory of him looking in the mirror and seeing her and James. Harry interpreted this as anger but reaaly it he was covering up his real emotions.

And the Worst Memory. Is it a coincidence that he Lily was in it.

But anyway I'm straying off the topic.

No DD is not evil. He just has a really good plan.

I don't think that Dumbledore has any bad intentions whatsoever. The glint he had in his eye when Voldemort returned has to do with the fact that Voldemort used Harry's blood to return. This will probably prove effective in somehow weakening Voldemort's powers against Harry. J. K. Rowling has confirmed that Snape was definitely not under the Cloak at Godric's Hollow the night the Potters died. I believe that Snape was acting on Dumbledore's orders, however reluctantly, when he killed him. 'Dumbledore' is an old English word for 'bumblebee'. JKR used this because she pictured him walking along the hallways, humming to himself.

i always thought that the triumphant look was weird. There is definately more to the old guy than meets the eye. I don't know if he's going to turn out evil though. The books have a way of turning around so that something that no one suspects ends up happening. I thought vaugely about the possibility of Dumbledore being more connected to voldemort though. Maybe a relative or there is more to that prophesey than we already know and it has to do with Dumbledore. I don't think he's going to be evil completely, but Harry has to learn that he couldn't have been perfect.

I'll shorten this and use a different approach than the others: Dumbledore's name means "Bumblebee." Every character Lynne Ewing has created has a name that reflects him/her (i.e. Draco means dragon). If Dumbledore was evil or "not as good as he seems," he would not have been named Bumblebee. Bumblebees are friendly, content creatures that have a lot of power but mean no harm. Also, Dumbledore defeated the dark wizard Grindewald in 1945. If he was really bad, why would he be working so hard to stop these dark wizards?

Interesting theory I would love to see this one in a Fanfiction story. I've been reading fanfiction and one of them theorized that The death of Dumbledore scene was a set up. DD and SS had curse and countercurse planned. Snape is still good and was pretending to curse Dumbledore and the plan went wrong. Dumbledore ends up in a sort of Wizard Coma. He is then put in a wizard protection program until he comes back to full power to avoid deatheater attacks.

Dumbledore's not evil. The fifth book explains more about what he was thinking about when Dumbledore looked 'triumphant'. There shouldn't be any doubt after reading the sixth.

I don't think Dumbledore is evil, but I do think he was somewhat incompetent, and that he didn't take good enough care of Harry. I've read some fanfiction recently that made me think about it. If you like fanfiction some of the authors on http://www.fanficauthors.net/ have very interesting takes on this subject.

You have a good point. All will be revealed in a couple of months.

I do think that he is still alive. Some think that he is one of the horcruxes, hence is needs to die himself. That may be why Dumbledore is so reluctant to tell him everything.

This is merely guesswork though.
