I waswondering, for recreational purposes, what the personalities are of the Akatsuki members?

Any detail will help. Small things like sasrcasm, morning habits, goals, phrases they like to say...

so theres 8 current members of Akatsuki.

Itachi- he seems very calm and has a very analytical mind. He served a few years in ANBU, he was a captain at 13, so he is pretty skilled. He doesnt seem interested in killing his opponents, rather, he seems to torture them using techniques from his Mankenyou Sharingan.

Kisame: Hes Itachi's partner in Akatsuki. All that we know about him is that he is a missing-nin from the Hidden village of mist, so he uses a lot of water justus. He carries on of the 7 great swords of the mist and has an enourmous chakra level, much higher than most in Akatsuki. He has a grudge with Gai, after Gai kicked him in the face....

Hidan: Hes a religious freak. He believes in a faith called danshayism and it revolves around killing and sacrifice. His justu is a curse justu by which he can kill an opponent if he drinks their blood. He is very pious and usually does a ceromony after killing an opponent. He also gets very angry at his partner...

Kakuzu: Hidans partner in Akatsuki. This guy is very money hungry, and is put in charge of Akatsuki's finances. He engages in a side job of killing stong individuals that have a high bounty on them (Asuma was one of these people). He hates Hidan because he spends too much time on his rituals. Other than that he is resevered. His special trait is that he has 5 hearts, and cannot die until all five have been destroyed. He can also replenish hearts by taking them out of enemies.

Sosori: The great puppateer of the sand. He has a vast array of puppets including the 3rd kazekage, whom he killed. He is initially paired up with Orochimaru, and then is given Deidra. He is very impatient and pretty arrogant.

Deidra: Sosori's partner in Akatsuki. He respects Sosori very much. However, he has a very short fuse, just like his justu. He is able to manipulate clay with his hands and make it explode. After the death of Sosori, he is paired up with Tobi...

Tobi: The new guy to Akatsuki and Deidra's partner. Not much is known about him except that he is a coward and pretty comical. He gloats a lot and not much is known about his justu, because he never fought...

Leader: His name has not been revealed. He has everyone's respect in Akatsuki, minus Hidan's...
He is able to perform the 9 dragon sealing justu, which rips a tailed beast from its host, and seals it. There is also something weird about his eyes, they seem to be Sharingan, but its different than normal. Theory is that he is Uchiha Madara

Well you know Itachi, all you have to do is look to Sasuke and times it by 10. They are related after all.

Theres also Sasori. Hes a puppet master like Kankuro, Gaara's elder brother. He is kind of childish to a degree, but he is very smart and has an insane desire to make everyone a part of his puppet body, if he deems them worthy.

Then there is Deidara, he is kind of a little bit psychotic. He is a sly and sneaky one. He's also quick minded and thinks on his feet. Watching him take on Gaara in the shippuudeen episode he is persistent as well. Refuses to give up

The only other one I know about is Kisame, apparently he and Gai do not like one another very well. There is some kind of connection between the two. But he is also much like Itachi, but calmer

There aren't really characters distinctive of Akatsuki members. I know they all have an unquenchable test for more and more power.
