I was so freaked out when I first got preggo with my first. I didnt want some of those creepy stretch marks that are ALL OVER some womans bellys. UGH!
I read once that Pam Anderson used Shea Butter Lotion on her belly everyday until she popped. (and look at her!) I used it with my first and am now using it religiously with my May 2007 baby. I put on a nice helping after every shower. Unfortunately, I got a whole 2 stretch marks about 2 weeks before I delivered but they are way down near my "crotch".
But at 18 weeks, you shouldnt have any. The baby is just growing so slowly in size. Towards the end, your baby is putting on so much weight so quickly plus the normal weight gain for you is a pound a week. If you take care of your skin now, you wont have to worry about stretch marks.
Also...Cocoa Butter doesnt provide enough moisture to coat your skin. just FYI. A friend used it and her belly got lots!

Some women don't get them at all. It depends on the elasticity of your skin etc if you work out on a regular basis and don't gain an over abundance of weight its possible you wont get any. Drinking the recommended daily allowance of water and rubbing your belly with cocoa butter moisturizing lotion may help with the also. Stretch marks are from your skin stretching. Gaining a lot of weight quickly can cause the skin to stretch too quick which leaves stretch marks

I would suggest right now you start using Palmers Cocoa Butter massge lotion for stretch marks. Use it religiously day and night to help inprove the elasticity of your skin. I had my son a month ago and I have 2 stretch marks. 2. Thats all. And they are so small that you can't even see them. I found them though! If you have tight dry skin you will get them as sson as your belly starts growing.
What you heard is true, but I think if you take care of your skin and drink alot of water and stay hydrated you shouldn't get them that bad.
I drink water like it is going out of style and I used that lotion a couple times a day everyday and I look like I was never pregnant.
It also has to do with your genes too. If your mother had them you probably will too.

They usually show up in the later months because your skin can handle some stretching without a problem. Make sure to use Vitamin E or stretch mark cream everyday. And don't forget to do your hips and around the back.

Some women never get stretch marks, it just depends on the skin of the woman. Gaining to much weight during your term certainly can add to the possibility of getting some, so keep your weight within what your doctor recommends. You can also rub oil on your stomach several times a day to help keep your skin moist, which will enable it to stretch without leaving many, or any, scars. Baby oil is a good oil to use.

I'm 30 weeks and have none so far, although I did start getting stretch marks on my bottom during early puberty (I was about 10 y.o.). I keep my body lotioned regularly, using Shea Butter and also coconut oil. They're not too greasy and smell great. It also depends on how quickly you put on the weight. Stretch marks appear because your skin, duh, stretches at a rapid pace. I've heard of them appearing a week before a woman is due also. Genetics also play a role, but try not to worry and just enjoy your pregnancy. Good luck and congratulations!

I dont think they come at a certain month so whoever told you they do is wrong. It depends on how quickly your body streches out. I never got them when i was pregnant. I think every body is different so i would just to be on the safe side use lotion around your stomache and hope they dont come out. They do make the lotion to prevent stretch marks.

I have two children and developed stretch marks at different times. With the first one, I started to get them when I was the biggest. I did not get any more with the second child until after he was born.

You know I started putting cocoa lotion on my belly all over, even towards my private area, when I first found out I was pregnant, and I only got one stretch mark, on my hip!! I swear by this lotion, or whatever knew cocoa creams jell's they have on the market apply it as often as possible, I did it everyday, and I was also determined not to get overweight while I was pregnant with all my 4 children and I walked everywhere especially with my oldest, and wiht her I only gained 20 pounds from my normal weight, and she was my tinyest baby!! And I had her in 6 hours!! With no pain!!! I walked that much!!! And when i got home from the hospitol the same day, I came home I put on my jeans I was wearing before I got pregnant with her!!! Kid you not!!! And man it felt so good to wear those levi's again!! And to not have to wear those maternity clothes anymore!!! So, use that cocoa cream now, hun, everyday!!! Good Luck to you & yours!! Smile!!!

no matter if creams and creams may help for a short at the same time as, in case you receives stretch marks, you're going to get them. except you've solid genes or were very lively in the previous you acquire pregnant, that's in part out of your potential. do not issue about stretch marks even with the reality that. you may or may no longer get them. My weight fluctuated a lot at the same time as i became youthful, so I already had some besides... ultimately they stunning much disappear and are hardly sizeable.
