Or, more pertinently, why don't they smell nice when they're burning?

I have stopped burning them...now I place them on the warmers that are found in hobby type shops (ie: Michael's) the warmer melts the candle and seems to release the smell via the oils in the wax and smell great and does not smell only when blowing it out....

i guess these candles were made for its sole purpose which is to light a room, if you want it to smell nice i guess u could try more than one candle in each corner and blow them out every two hours. the smell will last longer when more than one is used and blown out frequently.

They smell nice the whole time. The scent probably just seems stronger when you blow it out, because your face is right next to it.

They make our dorm room smell a lot better when they're burning. Get the wickless kind, they rock.
