I am an atheist. I do not believe in God as defined by major religions or society. Since I do not believe in God, I do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. So my belief, like your belief, is rooted in, well, belief (not fear).
However, with that said, I will agree that Jesus, as depicted by the new testament (yes, I have read it) had many good ideas for individuals and societies. We should not judge. We should be kind to each other. We should be charitable. We should be humble. We should help when we can. These are simple yet timeless truths that, if followed, would improve the world.
Does that sound like fear to you? I hope not. Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them afraid of your ideas or beliefs. You might consider avoiding sweeping judgments on people who you have never met and whose motivations you do not know. This will give you the open heart and mind that Jesus taught his followers to have.

Actually, very few people are afraid of Christ. Most of us are, however, afraid of neo-fascist, dictatorial religions that cram their personal view down other peoples throats!
Christ lived a life of equality and compassion, not hatred and judgment. Unfortunately, many organized religions today feel the need to condemn others for not believing, speaking or looking like them.
I hope they are grateful that we have a forgiving God! Just maybe He will see fit to forgive them their ignorance!

For those people who live in a home where the cause of Jesus Christ has not been a way of life, they are afraid for many reasons. Some of these reasons are''''
Ridicule from their parents....I have heard of some saying to their children," You think you are better than I am since you joined the church" , and of course you do join a chuch when you accept Jesus as their personal Savior.(children who join never think less of their parents)
other examples listed below
-------- wrongful -REasons people have for not Joining Christ;;;;;;
Fear of rejection of friends or that they will lose their freedom to do the things they want to do,,,,,,,,Actually, whenever someone sincerely gives Jesus their heart, they dont lose any freedom at all. /the people who use to cuss, drink and party, go to all the sinful places which Christians dont go to,,,,
None of these places really mean that much to true believers. And they can still go out with friends, but the christian doesnt care for overindulging in liquor or doing drugs, because they
have "become a new person", as the Bible teaches.
No one should be afraid of Jesus christ, because he can bring new awareness to an otherwise drab life. I know, I speak from experience.
---------
The best reason to accept Jesus is to be able to know that despite all the bad things going on around us, We( the christians) are protected from the worst things. Its true we all have troubles, but not as bad as the troubles of non-Christians. I have researched this, so I know. I wouldnt want to go back to the way things were before I became a Christian. I didnt lose anything, I gained life, liberty, pursuit of happiness

Just because someone doesn't "give themself to Christ" does not mean that they are afraid of Christ. All it measn is that they have a different system of beliefs, and do not necessarily with Christians and their belief system.
It is ignorant and rather prejudiced to believe that the BILLIONS of people in this world who are not Christians are "afraid".

Christ isn't the issue; he's as close to a hippie deity as they come. It's the followers that are an issue; each time they feel the need to "spread the word", it tends to involve a lot of dead bodies.

What does this question have to do with LGBT issues? Are you trying to imply something?
Please delete this question and ask it under "religion and spirituality."
There are many religious and spiritual LGBT people. This includes the ones that have been booted from their original churches just for being how God made them, mostly by hypocritical "christians." Do you know any?
