I recently got my leather jacet dry cleaned, however it has a hard life and is not as black as it used to be, and has a few cracks. Is there any way to restore this at home? I have neen thinking about shoe polish..would this work? Has anyone else got any ideas?

well shoe polish would restore the colour and help improve the softness of the leather but it doesnt smell to good why not try some dubbing on it

use a quality moisturiser like Nivea for example, massage it into the leather and it will make it supple again and the cracks will be less noticeable, it will also brighten up the leather and you may not need shoe polish (or any other dye). depending how bad you let your jacket get you may need quite a bit of moisturiser so you could mix a quality brand with a stores own brand to make it go further

The trouble with shoe polish is,no matter how much you polish it off it will always rub off on anything you touch.

Dubbing would be your best bet.
