Money in Regency England?

Does anyone know about money in Regency England and how it was used in everyday life? For example: Were Pound Notes so rare among common folk? Which coins or notes were considered 'a lot' by normal people but insignificant by the peerage?

I think the commoners usually had only a few pence. Not pounds.
