Lady Tennis players earn more money then LPGA players, because the WTA gets more sponsorship and TV deals leading to higher purses in tournaments.

For example the number 30th WTA player Na Li earnings $460,982 100th Eva Binerova $144,603. LPGA- #30 Player $392,847 and #100 Yu Ping Lu $74,610.

For the MEN PGA is higher then the ATP due to the fact they make more money from TV contracts and sponsorship. Reason Men's Tennis 3/4 Grand slams overseas while in Golf it's 1/4. Also ATP isn't shown on major networks for a big part of the tour overseas (Only show American/Canada tournaments except for the slams 3/4 network TV)

MEN PGA- #100 Ted Purdy $1,216,428 vs #100 ATP Janko Tipsarevich $247,200 In fact you don't earn 1 million until the 14th player in tennis.

Even the Championship tour which is below PGA Jay Haas made $654,132

Men's Golf also has the European Tour-#10 player Johan Edfors $1,505,583 EUROS ( 1 EURO=1.33 Dollars) ) =$2,007,091 U.S.

golfers as a whole make more than tennis players. One year a guy earned over 2 million dollars on the PGA tour and did not win one tournament during the season. There are many more golf manufacturers than tennis. One player made 6 million from the equipment manufacturer he endorses. 14 events on the PGA tour 1st place prize is over a million dollars. Maybe a fourth of the events on the ATP tour have a 1st prize over a million dollars. To earn full playing privileges on the PGA tour your gonna have to earn at least 700,000. The smallest 1st prize on the PGA tour is like 600,000 give or take a few thousand. Neither participants are hurting for income if they are decent.

it all determines on the place they finish in the particular tourney, and their finishes throughout the year. obviously winning a tourney is good for bothe of them, but a lot of athletes also gain income through sponsors and endorsement deals.
