Why is Menu Foods allowed to lie and say only 16 animals (15 cats and a dog) have died from the tainted foods. Also, sources say Menu Foods has been feeding the food to 40-50 test animals, 11 of which died. Hmmmm... interesting numbers. I hope Menu Foods goes out of business.

On another note, my 1 year old dog has been fed Iams Select Bites, and is currently being treated on Leucovorin (Folinic Acid) and IV fluids for kidney problems. The Folinic acid is used to reverse the effects of the Rat Poison.

been feeding my dogs for 6 years my own homemade dog food recipes based on the B.A.R.F diet. Never had to worry about it.
Additional Info: It wasnt pure rat poison that was in the food, it was thought that Rat toxin was sprayed onto the wheat used to make the Wheat Gluten that thicken the gravy in the wet foods. This was Wheat from China that is poorly tested and regulated but cheap to buy. its not that Menu foods was injecting packages with Rat poison. It was a cause and effect problem, and mostly cats are passing on because they are more suseptable to kidney problems especially past 5 years old. Also its cause most people like to feed a cat a strict died of wet foods. If you only give you pets a small treat every now and then of wet foods, you are not likely to have any problem with contaminated foods. Its only if you feed your animals a sole diet of canned foods.

Very sorry to hear about your dog.... I've been paranoid since they first mention the animal poisonings coming from pet food. But so far I've been very very lucky. This company should be sued into the ground. Or atleast one angry pet owner should take the law into his own hands if they ever find out who was the exact cause of this. I hope your dog comes out of this thing healthy as it was before

I fed my cat the dry food and she died in August of 2006 with kidney failure, 6 months later, in Feb 07, my ferret of 5 years died of liver failure after being fed Iams dry kitten formula. Only the Iams is on that recall list and only the "wet" versions of this food, I am afraid they are going to have to widen that to all their foods... both my creatures died untimely deaths in the last 8 months and both were fed top of the line foods.. I'm devastated. And my vet is puzzled. They were fine on their last vet visits before they suddenly became ill and perished.

our cat died 3 days after they started the call back food. the cat had just had kittens and our vet said to feed her the caned cat food to help her gain weight. it took 4 days to kill that cat and when we took her to the vet they said that she had massive kidney failure. now we'er stuck feeding 6 kittens. all because of our stupid vet who told us to feed the stupid food
